  With the July 15 WT approaching, would this be the ideal opportunity to start an ACTIVELY VOCAL fade?

  by 'actively vocal', i do not mean openly criticising the articles and pointing out the inconsistencies or flipflops (not footwear, reversals).

  i do mean letting people know that you're finding it hard to understand the new truth, and the fact that there is therefore old truth, or falsities, (is that a word?

  it is now), therefore if there are falsehoods (that's the word, of course), then that puts into doubt the extent of jah's involvement in the preparation/dissemination of it all... (and making it clear you're not saying they aren't gods prophets on earth, just that you're not sure, don't know).. the reason i ask is cos i'm finding it hard to completely fade without an external reason.

  I am going to use it big time! My situation is a bit different though because only my wife is still in. I have NO family in the 'truth'. So, why am I even still pretending? My wife will be shocked to see my WT so well studied (marked up). I will ask her point blank if what was covered makes any sense at all after each study. Can't wait to see Blondie's pre-study notes and all the comments here.

  I don't do service now and rarely go to a meeting. After we finish that study wt, I am done. I'm not sure I can even make it thru the whole thing without standing up and shouting: this is all nonsense. I'm outta here!

  Loaded Language Word of the day : SPIRITUALITY

  this is really becoming one of my biggest pet peeves.

  jws use the word spiritual to describe anyone who goes out in service weekly, holds a congregation position, has privledges, in good standing etc, meanwhile this person can be rude, manipulating, or just plain evil and jws will gush about how spiritual they are.

  on the other hand you can have someone sincerely trying to be christlike, manifesting good qualities and kind, helping others out, but if they dont have privleges, pioneer, ms, elder, or dosent comment at the kh, or does not attend enough, that person is not "spiritual" to a jw!

  Other signs of WT-approved spirituality:

  1. Regular commenting at meetings. But only WT-approved type comments - stick to the script!

  2. Massively highlighted WT study article. The more colors the better (one for each time you studied the material)

  3. A clean car.

  4. All get togethers must involve singing KM songs.

  I was pondering his very issue BU2B last Friday as I was riding my bike thru the forest just before sunset listening to the birds sing. I compared how I felt at that moment with how I would feel if I was at the Service Meeting with my wife like a good dub. Of course, if a branch from an old tree had fallen on me and killed me, the dubs would say: see if he was more spiritual (at the meeting) that would not have happened!

  well i went to a "special meeting" in the armadillo today where a 2 & 1/2 hour programme was relayed from london at 1pm.

  apparently the letters of invitation only went out a month or so ago and not all congregations were invited.

  there were 2,900 of us from around scotland.

  We had same dog and pony show in Poland On Sunday, but no GB member. My buddy Viv Moritz was there with opening remarks and after WT summary we had talk by Canadian Bethel/Branch overseer (smarmy) and German bethel (John Kassel?) -deadly boring. Doubly boring because it all had to be translated! It was like getting a root canal done with garden tools.

  Big take away: University is bad. Maria was a rising star in congregation, but once she started going to universtity, comments, field service, meeting attendance all dropped and then she disappeared. Gee, I wonder what happened.

  Bonus talk (Jehovah's treasures) from German bethel overseer. Do these guys get to make up their own outlines? This was probably one of the worst talks I have ever heard.

  Viv Moritz wwent on and on about how happy he was to be here, but never cracked a smile. Polish brothers tried to put a happy face on it, but it was really awful.

  Go for it. It shouldn't be so bad if you have some local friends/community that can help. Throw your net wide.

  You will hate yourself even worse later if you don't try. I know - easy for an old geezer to say. But, don't stop trying...

  if this sentence slipped into one of the paragraphs in an upcoming study article about jehovah's wonderful creative works, would anyone notice?

  would anyone have the courage to say anything about it?

  maybe the gb is just toying with the r&f and having a good laugh.. last gb meeting: hey we got away with 'ovelapping generations' and the float of our new understanging of who we are doesn't seem to be causing a big stir so far.

Would anyone have the courage to say anything about it? I mean, how far can they really go? Maybe the GB is just toying with the R&F and having a good laugh.

  I agree with the 2 posts above about how utterly trite and boring the material was. Looking ahead at next three in this study edition also doesn't look promising. Absolutely not planning to go again until the July studies to observe the reaction to the new-lite series and then that will be it. I will use that for my exit.

  i met a couple i used to know many years ago (probably 20) in a local "big box" store.

  i knew they looked familiar and since they were dressed up and it was saturday "mid day" i put two and two and two and came up with 666... they were jw's.

  i didn't say anything to them just minded my business picking up supplies when the woman came over to me and started asking me if she new me from work or some company.

  I've noticed the last few times I got to a meeting to keep the wife happy, the more 'spiritual, service minded' the individual was, the more likely it was that they would totally ignore me. The few 'real' folks make an effort to come by and say hello and try to 'encourage' me. It is really easy to notice here in Poland since the custom is to go around the hall once you are seated and greet everyone.

  They are already ruined. Just playing 'kick the can down the road' at the moment. Best it will ever be (for most of us) was in the mid 70's.

  this is probable my most favourite time of the year.

  grass is growing, life is coming back after the death and greyness of winter.. them swallows are such amazing little birds.

  They are one of my favorite birds too. I love to sit in the back yard when they are swarming and let them fly all around me. They seem to be having fun. So clumsy on the ground, so graceful in the air. Quite talkative when they want to be. Also interesting how they have the ability to land on the side of the house and perch there.
