Exactly what I found. Developing some critical thinking skills and losing the cognotive dissonance took me from MS with no major issues to virtual atheist in 6 months.

The More I Think, The More I Lose Faith In BIBLE!!
by NoMoreHustle insitting through this weeks wt study.

Well, IT HAS BEGUN. See the future of the WTBTS in print.
by DATA-DOG ini hate to read the wt, but i skimmed the july 15 study edition.
i found many examples of propaganda, of course, but a couple things really stood out.
1) the future of the preaching work.

The trick, oubliette, is the JW app. You can download several of the videoa. You have offline access to loads of content. Not to mention downloading publications in iBooks. Did you know an emailed publication counts as a placement?

Is new light coming again?
by justme67 ini just turned in my resignation letter to my congregation a few weeks ago.
last week, 2 elders called me to say they received my letter and would like to meet with me to discuss my concerns.
in my letter, i said i had found out about all the child abuse cases that were going on and that i didnt agree with their policy of disfellowshipping.

I very much doubt the elders know much more than is already known about upcoming stuff. It's far more speculation around the "nearness" of the big A, the chariot speeding up, constant messages from the GB that the end is very, very close, 100 years of bugger all happening etc.
After the conventions this summer the R&F are wetting themselves about world events. It's hyped them up no end and bought them a little time. I expect they know nothing.

Child with brain tumour taken from UK hospital by JW parents
by Fe2O3Girl inhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-28978655.
a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour has been taken without consent from hospital by his parents, sparking a major police hunt for the family.. ashya king was taken from southampton general hospital and is now believed to be in france with his parents and six siblings.. police said he needs constant medical care and there are "serious concerns" for his life if he is not found today.. brett king, 51, and naghemeh king, 45 removed him from the ward on thursday.. ashya's father was pictured taking him from the hospital"everyone is sending their love now.
we love you so much and we want to see you very soon and i love you so much and can't wait to see you.".

bemused, I think the answer to that is in the father's video. It seems relations between the hospital and the parents were deteriorating and the parents had a concern that Ashya would be made a ward of court. They removed him to prevent that possibility from happening. What will happen now of course is another question.

Please help....in a dilemma..
by crazyhorse inplease help with this: when i was in college, there was a lot of talk about university and how all who pursue that are wasting their time and all that.
even before going to uni, there was a lot of pressurr on me concerning my decision.
during that time, two elders sat with me for appointment as ms and asked me if i have freedom of speech in the org since i'm going to uni and i said no.

Fade away. I wish I had seen the errors in the org before I got appointed.

Quelly - I agree with you on many things and enjoy your posts but on this specific subject I disagree with you. I think the family's membership of the witnesses has very little to do with this and they are simply trying to do the best, as they see it, for their child. Without knowing the full details it's impossible to say if they are really playing Russian roulette with Ashya's life or not but I don't think it's right to simply write them off as deluded, brainwashed cult nutjobs. As a father I just hope that I am never in their situation.

That 'Resurrection' video is cultish and scary but it couldn't actually harm anyone. Could it?
by nicolaou inmy wife and i spent last evening, as so many did, concerned for the king family and their little boy ashya (bbc report).
it's clear that blood is not an issue in their decision to take ashya away from hospital and the vital medical attention that he needs.
the watchtower office of public information also denied "that their decision is in any way motivated by any religious convictions".. hmmm.

I've not asked the question directly but I am pretty sure the parents were not at Twickenham since they were basically at the hospital 24/7.
