The GB are god's mouthpiece. Rebuttal to elders?

i've read how many have been asked the question if they belive thae gb/f&d$ are jehovah's(tm) channel for communication.

this question to finally find out if they should be df or not (terms and conditions apply and are subject to favouritism or who your family are).. we all know too well that the gb arrogantly do claim to be god's channel in their pope like status.. however, when they are made to look like arses they suddenly become 'just imperfect men doing their best...where else will you go?'(r).

so when the elders come to hound individuals and ask the ultimate question of loyalty to the holy paedo ring known as the gb..... what answers have you heard given that was totally brilliant?.

What is accomplished by disfellowshipping? It keeps Jehovah’s holy name clear of reproach and protects the fine reputation of his people. (1 Peter 1:14-16) Removing an unrepentant wrongdoer from the congregation upholds God’s standards and preserves the congregation’s spiritual cleanness. It may also bring the unrepentant one to his senses.

So basis the above w06 quote, if the Soc are found guilty and therefore bring enormous reproach on Jehovah's name, will the GB be disfellowshipped in order to "preserve the (worldwide) congregations spiritual cleanness"?

After all, it was their rules, and theirs alone, which lead to the reproachful mess they found themselves in.

When accidents happen to brothers, both the congregation and the injured person should keep a balanced view of the injury and of what the insurance company will Pay -

What you do to help the injured person should take into account both the circumstances and resources of the person himself and any assistance that he can obtain on his own, including payments from his personal insurance or group employee insurance and any government aid that he qualifies for.

Your congregation's funds are limited, and so is the insurance coverage it carries. Neither should be expected to pay for every expense incurred by those who are doing some kind of work for the congregation.

Your insurance is intended to protect the congregation itself from severe expenses or legal obligations that it would not be able to pay. (See section VII, p. 45.)

Insurance to protect the individual usually is purchased by the individual. The injured person should not feel that he is entitled to be compensated for accidents resulting from his own carelessness or mistakes.

Nice to know they are looking out for the brothers.

takes out life insurance on its members ?

recently, it was exposed that walmart and a lot of businesses take out a "special" life insurance on their employees.

hello, i am new and i feel soooo wrong about being here.

anyway i am an m.s and have been disillusioned ever since the new understanding that came out in october.

i have read many things on this board that i have and also have not thought about.

I think msconcerned is focussing backwards so he can learn what to expect in the future.

Given the GB's historical nonsense and lack of success in 'prophesying' ANYTHING accurately, I think msconcerned has good reason to be concerned.

You ask why the new FDS teaching bothers anyone? It's because if it was wrong before:

1. Where did that wrong teaching come from exactly (for 95 years)?

2. Who's to say this latest idea isn't also wrong, and will be changed in... well that's anyones guess.

3. How can anything the GB say be trusted, with such an appalling track record?

Time magazine, reporting in July 1969 on a District Convention said:

"If this turns out to be the last time they all got together, the thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses who gathered last week in New York City's Yankee Stadium for an international assembly will not be a bit surprised. In fact, they fully expect the cataclysm of Armageddon within the next few years. The latest calculations of this energetic, eschatology-minded sect date the end of the world in autumn, 1975.

Fearful as it may be to other religious believers, the end is a prospect that rejoices the hearts of the 323,688 U.S. members of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society..."

The manuscript talk at that July 1969 DC included this statement:

"More recently earnest researchers of the Holy Bible have made a recheck of its chronology.
