  The look down

  at the office today i had a "came across" with a jw colleague.

  i was greeting him friendly.

  he was greeting me with a forced "hello".. while saying the word "hello" he looked down to me, like i was inferior.. do you recognize these "look down's", because you are an inactive jw?.

  Don't feel irritated, you should pity them. They have removed all reasonable thoughts of their own and replaced them with someone else's, even if they don't understand them or can defend them.

  Truth is, that little JDub is terrified of displeasing his masters and his reaction to you was a public display to his friends to "prove" his worthiness and his spirituality.

  Shame he hasn't noticed that all WT angels have beards, thus showing the beard to be 'holy' in the sight of God and the WT.

  Interesting moment on subway today & other thoughts

  i was heading home today, and i saw one woman reading a new world translation.

  we made eye contact, but i hope i didn't glare at her or anything... since i was already having a bout with depression today, it didn't help to see her.

  so then she gets off the train, right?

  Hey SD-7,

  When you were in, all of your time was pre-allocated and you had a busy life doing things for everyone else.

  Meetings, prep, study, talks, F.Service etc. Now you have a void to fill.

  There are millions of people who know how to kick back and relax, or who do some boating/hobbies/walking/sight seeing etc.

  Are there places you've always wanted to go? I don't mean on holiday, I mean quite local to you.

  Do you ever see something and think "I wish I could give that a try?" Then try it.

  Keep alert for things you'd like to learn more about, do, or go to see.

  There really is life after, but it doesn't always come easy to start with.

  Oh man, too many memories coming back now, what have you started lol !!!

  I've even been out to a restaurant and when the bill comes someone hasn't enough to pay their share. Happy to eat everything going, but didn't bring enough to pay for it.

  Or at a pub when it's someones round, either "Oh, I have only got £x, can you lend me some?", or "I think I need to get myself off now, thanks for the evening!"

  You get to know when someone is always late arriving at a pub because they know the first round is often the most expensive. Or they order Guinness (pricey!) on everyone else's round and a small beer when it's their round.

  And it's never worse than at the End of Service year Pioneer Meal, where all the pio's celebrate getting their time in by going to a cheap restaurant, ordering a cheap one course meal with water, then try to stuff each other with the bill when it arrives.

  Literally counting out the pennies.

  Whathehadas: You try to explain it's going to be expensive but they still make you go? That's pretty shameful. I'd thank you for being so honest and say that I'm happy to help out if you actually wanted to go.

  All these stories are familiar to me as well.

  Everyone ordering the most expensive food in the hope that it will get split evenly and their meal is subsidised, or that someone (I often did it) would just say at the end "this is on me".

  Then there's those who have worked out that if they pay last they can ask "How much collected so far?" so they make up the small difference, because everyone else has dropped in a little extra for a tip.

  I've ended up telling people "No, your meal was x amount - the extra in here is for the staff, not to pay your meal". It's a bit embarrassing but it happens EVERY time.

  i have been out 20 plus years.

  yesterday at a exercise class i met a very nice lady who, along with her husband left the same kh i attended.

  they left 4 years ago.

  In the UK there is a legal obligation for an organisation to keep personal records safe, and to destroy them after they are no longer needed.

  You can enquire with the local elders about the records they kept on you.

  In the UK the Data Commissioner (government depertment) can be notified if there has been a security breach and they will investigate to see what info was taken and if it was being held securely, as opposed to in, say, a file cabinet.

  Another rumor about changes in Watchtower and Awake

  it's only a rumor.

  but we all know that sometimes rumors become a reality.. supposedly the public watchtower and awake magazines will be combined together and the two shall become one.. i wonder if the present 16 page "rags" are becoming an embarrassment.

  they truly are rags of the lowest quality..
