Highly unlikely that she'd admit that "indiscretion" to the elders either.
Tell me about it. Kinda happened already. Only weird thing is she "down plays" what happened. Maybe this way she can justify in her mind not going to the elders.
im not sure if i was married to a psycho or not and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ex.
weve been divorced for 2-1/2 years and have had our ups and downs.
because shes a diehard jw and doesnt have grounds to get re-married i get an ear full from her blah...blah.. anyway, one minute shes like "its terrible that i have to wait for you to get married before i can" and then this past weekend she calls me to talk.

hey, .
any windy-city-ites on this board?
i left about 9 months ago...not born-again christian....student...26...very happy with my life of science and philosophy...not bitter about the jws (though they are a funny group, aren't they?).
BTW Roybatty....my mom told me that brother we talked about in e-mail is a wonderful brother with a loving wife!!
You mean SC? Wow, I thought he was divorced and Df'd. Wouldn't mind finding his first wife. hubba hubba!

Thanks for the responses! You guys crack me up. Blacksheep, you do bring up some good points. I do wonder how much the JW "anti-woman" thing effects her. I wouldn't say that I taunt her, actually I applaud what she's accomplished. She's bought her own house, finished college, found a great job at a state university, etc., things she never had to do before. I just wonder if this has created a conflict inside her. I just wonder if all this new "exposure" has created some turmoil inside her and she resents me for exposing her doubts?
Then again, maybe she's just a psycho! Well, at least she hasn't tried to eat my liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

She tip toes around the topic, basically wanting to know if Ive ever thought about getting back together. I answer "yeah, sorta, kinda, not really." Anyway, we chat for a bit. It goes from "I hate you" to a hug. Very confusing. Today when she picks up the kids shes like "dont ever talk to me about that again"
Ug! I was like "you called me" Anyway, is this a common occurrence with divorced people?

I'm out in Sandwich IL, just west of Naperville. Welcome to the board!
over the weekend i watched the movie "about a boy.
anybody else have a problem understanding the brits?
sheesh, you'd think the dvd would come with an english version, since it comes with a french one.
Fortunately, Eman has provided such a thing: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=40734&site=3
Thanks!
Actually, I liked the movie. I thought it was quite humourous.....er...humorous.

my wife and i were talking about something the other day while we were driving and we were discussing some point about boards like this one.
boards that are populated by ex-jws.
in the conversation we got to wondering some things, and wondered if others felt or wondered the same.
Interesting post Why. I guess the reasons for coming here are differnt from person to person. Personally, I come here for a variety of reasons. One, I simply enjoy the many topics that are discussed here, most of which are non-JW. I find the posters here to be smart and I love the radically differnt opinions. Secondly, my young kids and family are still JWs, so I like to keep up on the latest JW news. For example, info on the blood issue has been great.
I guess I agree with you about the results of harping on the negative and it does seem that outlets like this one can feed this desire. However, I don't view this as an "ex-JW thing." Some people, perhaps even most, are inclined to do this. People bitch about politicans, but then don't vote. People bitch about how their childhood sucked but then ignore their kids. People bitch about the wolrd going to shi* but then don't volunteer to help out in the community. Some people are just inclined to bitch about life and never do anything to about it.
Glad to hear the you and your wife have done well. Stick around the board and you might have a differnt opinion.
i'm sick of talking about george bush and iraq and war so.... what were you like in high school?.
i was an orchestra geek.
i played violin and took all the math classes i could.
plus my dad cut my hair and made sure I didn't get a cool "worldly" hair cut like the rest of the kids
Geez! I don't know what's worse, that or running into worldly friends while out in service??!! The PO of the last congregation I was in has a son the same age as mine and he use to cut his hair and make him dress like a nerd. It always rubbed him the wrong way that I allowed my son to have a somewhat modern haircut and dress in good clothes. Man, speaking from exp. you have my sympathies!
who do you want to win?
for me, i would have gone for anyone who was against the raiders.
this should be fun.
At first I was thinking that the Bucs would win by 3 because of their strong defense. However, winning two back to back games on the road is very tough, so I'm giving a slight edge to the Raiders. Raiders by 3.
