The GB and every JW that supports the WatchTower's shunning policy are partially responsible for this tragic event. There is just a chance that this might have been avoided if this man's family and so-called friends didn't shun him. Maybe they could have convinced him to seek medical help.

LDH,
You may be right, I'm just not exactly sure. Both of them are die hard JW's but I know that my sis never really liked being so far from home. I haven't spoken with them for nearly two years, I can only hope that they have opened their minds.

Just making someone known about a situation doesn’t absolve them of responsibility. Perhaps in the business word it does but what about in a place where you call the people around you “family.” To have a couple work for a company for years (making nothing) and then to “give them the boot” when they need help is wrong. It’s just too bad that more JWs aren’t aware of how things work.
But I know, I’m preaching to the choir. -

Well, I’m sure that my parents will cover their medical costs. It actually makes me chuckle and shake my head when I think about it. They took this vow of poverty yet they drove a nice Japanese luxury sedan, vacationed in the Caribbean and wore the nicest of clothes. Kind of a side point but when I was being disassociated my sister wrote me a letter from Bethel saying that she will no longer talk to me but if I wanted to continue to send her money to support her full time volunteer work, I was welcome to! LOL!
Practically going to Bethel right after high school and being there for well over 10 years I think my brother in law is in for a real eye opener. I can’t even imagine what kind of job skills he has. Well, I wish them both good luck because they’ll need it. -

Warning to Presiding Overseers!
by ozziepost inthe february issue of kingdom ministry in britain issues a warning to presiding overseers that they must stop auditing congregation accounts.
it advises presiding overseers that they are contravening the charities act by doing the audit.
instead service committees are now to appoint someone to do the audit.. strange things seem to be happening in britain!

Jerry,
Actually here in Chicago a couple of years ago a local elder stole thousands of dollars from a congregation's building fund. We weren't wasn't given the details from the CO but he give us this information when warning us to carefully track all contributions for our own building fund.
JWs...not above stealing. -

Question for any ex-Bethelites….or anyone else who might know.
After “serving” (aka being slaves) at the Brooklyn Bethel my sister and brother in law are leaving because she is pregnant. I’m just curious about something. How long is it normally in such circumstances before a couple leaves? And knowing how expensive it is to give birth to a child, will this medical expense be covered by Brooklyn?
In years gone by when I visited them, I never saw a single pregnant “sister” at Bethel, so I imagine that they are asked to leave quickly. I can’t imagine that Bethel is that cruel that they would kick them out and have them pay for their own medical expenses. $90.00 a month (or whatever it is) won’t go very far. Heck, at that rate, one couldn’t even afford a vet! -

Ah, it was always a big deal in our Hall that some besides the PO audit the books. I wonder if for the same reason as the one in the UK? I have to admit though, with the simplified accounting procedures that took polace in the early 90's, auditing the books was a piece of cake.

To Mr. Bowen aka Silentlambs
by YoYoMama inhaving a hard time with dateline eh?.
i admire what you are trying to do in behalf of all those that have been sexually abused, but i believe you are going about it in the wrong way.. you have taken up a fight against jehovah himself and this is futile.
the organization has some flaws, as is expected of any imperfect organization.

YoYo,
My question is a little off the subject at hand but I was wondering, what do you consider to be "proof" that Jehovah God is backing the Watchtower organization?

WT used cars
by Lady Lee indoes any one have the link for wt used cars?
somebody posted the link where they sell the old co cars.
i am looking for the link and can't find it.. rejoice in the healing and not in the pain.. rejoice in the challenge overcome and not in the past hurts.. rejoice in the present - full of love and joy.. rejoice in the future for it is filled with new horizons yet to be explored.

Chuck,
I can't say that I had a "problem" with the CO driving around in a brand new Buick. The only thing got under my skin was that the CO's car was nicer then most of the cars that those in the congregation drove and that he didn't have to pay for it.

FLAG NIGHT AT THE KINGDOM HALL
by Danielson inbeing tne sarcastic semi-doubter bastard i am ,i thought i would satisfy a rebellious inkling in my soul i've wanted to satisfy at the kingdom hall from earliest teenhood i wore a flag pin under my suit jacket!whoa i thought, maybe i'll get caught!
that made it irrisistable!so yesterday i did it!
funny beneath all the smiles of my brothers and sisters was the beast of indignation waiting to surface if the sight of the monstorous abomination would surface before their eyes!
