ANOINTED Jehovah Witness has no doubt,
by lotus inhello, i am new to this website, but have to be straightforward and say that i do not agree with most subjects and contents.
i am an active jehovah witness, but i am very lonely so i am looking for others with the "hope" or to speak to those that know someone that does.
it has been a long , hard road for me.

Public Talks
by radar inpublic talks .
here is a list of talks that was spoon fed to the congregation in 1998.. for some reason there was no talk number 100 back then.. but can you spot which talk that is missing from the list, the one that should have never been missing from the list for jws?
it is still not on the list even today.. and do you know why?

Ever see the movie "Little Show of Horrors"? Steve Martin plays a dentist that you might find somewhat familiar. :)
Hope you feel better soon! -

Being dis-fellowshipped or dis-associated
by Smitty infor those that are dis-fellowshipped or dis-associated: do you speak to jw's even though they know you're disfellowshipped or dis-associated?

I greet they (JWs) whenever I see them in public. Nothing obnoxious, just a "hello, how are you?" type of greeting. If they asked me not to speak to them, then I'd honor their request but why should I assume that a committee of three little men speak for these people.

Yeah, no need for medical help I suppose, he's got the troof now. And that's exactly the type of person that I'd want my 16-year old son studying with. Yikes! True or not, this story will "inspire" many JWs.

No windows on Kingdom Halls?
by just_a_girl ini just read a post on another site i belong to (non-jw related) where a person asked if anyone knew why jws do not have windows on their kingdom halls.
a few other people responded saying that they had noticed the same thing, that they thought it was b/c the jws believe that windows are just an adornment, hence a distraction?.
in my 20+ years of being a jw and attending quick builds, i never noticed this ... it never even dawned on me ... and now that i try to think back, i can't remember there being any windows at the khs i attended?.

I was an elder working on a quick-build project a years back and there were two reasons why the Society discourages windows. One, cost savings (this was the biggest reason) and two, saftey. Saving money was the biggest reason though. The Hall is way out in the country and crime here is almost non-existant.
BTW, the Hall looks terrible without windows. As a matter of fact, there was a heated argument between the body of elders that I was on and the regional building commitee regarding windows. Guess who won? -

by JosephAlward inas he sat upon mount of olives, jesus was telling his disciples about the end of the world and what they could expect just before that apocalyptic event.
they asked him, .
"when shall these things be?

I read and "believe in" the Bible AND I find Joe's posts to be just fine. Why do people get so pissed off when someone else questions their beliefs? Personally, I like to be challenged regarding my beliefs. Who knows, maybe something better is out there.

New Meeting attendance policy??
by noidea ini couldn't believe it when my daughter came home from a weekend at her cousins.
she had gone to the meeting with them on sunday and had been approached by an elder (an uncle by marriage)..he was of course joking when he said this....he had the nerve to tell her that because i was not attending the meetings (haven't been for 7 months) that they were going to have to come to my home with a shotgun and make me go.
i have heard of shotgun weddings before not shotgun meeting attendance.

A shotgun was standard issue for elders here in the Chicago-land area. Without it, the Halls would be empty.

Why doen't God perform miracles today?
by sleepy inwhy did jesus do miracles?.
it is alledged that some 2000 years ago a man claimed to be the son of god , or even god himself (depends what religion you are).. in order to give some weight to his cliam he did some miracles, cured a few lepers, made a slap up lunch out of some fish and bread, and took a walk on some water.. all this to prove he was gods son.. but to prove it to who?.
if you ask a witness why god doen't perform miracles today , what do they say.. we don't need miracles today we have it all written in the bible.. der.
