  how did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?

  and with only a simple majority required?

  in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

  It comes down to the GOD effect and the unintended side-effect.

  GOD = Guardians of Democracy. Equal say for all people. The decision with the most votes wins.

  Not to be confused with the other GOD effect, Guardians of Doctrine, the prefered choice of the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses, in which no one has any say over anything but for the self-chosen holy seven.

  by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

  so britain is leaving the european union (eu).. the governing body of jehovah's witnesses have over the past year moved the majority of its european activities to the control of watchtower britain and the ibsa primarily because of britain's membership with the eu.. further, the incorporated pseudo-political lobby group, european association of jehovah's christisn witnesses, based in brussels, is administered by watchtower britain and its officers.

  punkofnice: It's the feet of clay in Daniel's drug induced vision, they mean something again. The UK and the USA will be the dual world power again. Phew! The WBT$ were right all along.....apart from the feet of clay....and everything else they predicted.

  Not if Scotland goes to another referendum and decides to leaves the UK so as to remain part of the EU.

  According to JW leadership theology ... the ruler of this world is Satan ... God loved the world so much that he sacrificed his son Jesus ... only JWs are in line to benefit from the sacrifice of Jesus and to live forever. Go figure.

  i was a younger dub at the time of this release, and stopped watching this movie near its beginning, when john cleese was stoned with the huge rock for saying jehovah.. this was despite having been (and continuing to be) a major john cleese (and monty python) fan.. any fans of this film?.

  it has been over 100 years since jesus christ was enthroned as king in the heavens in 1914 according to jehovah`s witnesses with the task of preaching "this good news of the kingdom" in all the inhabited earth .for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.. it`s been over 2000 years since this task was given to jesus disciples , who evolved into christendom over the centuries with many sects that abound today.. neither have succeeded in carrying out this task to completion and christendom has had far longer an opportunity to do so.

  however jehovah`s witnesses claim they are the true religion with gods approval .. so you would expect a better achievement .

  jesus christ has used up more than 100 years of his rule with no major accomplishments , it does not look like he is going to achieve any better than what christendom did in 2000 years.in fact by all accounts he is going to be far worse.. jehovah`s witnesses as a minority sect are becoming more irrelevant as each year passes.. even their "witnessing" has been dumb`d down so much that it is an embarrassment to observe in the field.. in the 60`s and 70`s their was an urgency to get this message across to people , today ?
