Think of it this way. Take this article to an Elder and respectfully point out the discrepencies between the paragraphs in the same article. Then the article and the Flock book. You will be in a meeting before you can say Miracle Wheat!!

There's gotta be another faction in the Writing Department, either that or they can't see the irony.
by Theocratic Sedition inthe past two week's worth of wt studies have made a couple points that appear contradictory in nature.
yesterday was too much, i felt at least.
either there's another faction within the writing department fighting for the equivalent of airtime in the literature, or they're all so indoctrinated that they fail to see the irony in what they publish.. for instance, take paragraph 5 from last week's lesson.. 5. unlike the law codes of many countries, "the perfect law" is neither complex nor burdensome but consists of simple commandements and principles.

I wish there was a warring faction hidden within the Org. I am starting to believe that they are just ignorant and micro-managed.

A New "Class"?
by Pathofthorns in(edited for waiting :).
in 1935 a "new class" was "discerned" when the great crowd was understood to have an earthly hope and survive armageddon.. could there be a new "class" of witnesses surfacing today?
the articles, such as those on blood, feature a "some" whose conscience permits this and that.

JW's , Star Trek V and pain.
by DATA-DOG insince everyone is thinking of star trek this week, i have a question.
in star trek v, kirk has a chance to have his secret pain removed by spock's half-brother.
kirk refuses, and says that he needs his pain because it makes us who we are.

I love that quote Miss jones!!! Thanks! Life is what it is.. We can move on and help others or we can live in the past and second-guess ourselves the rest of our lives. It is good to have empathy for others too. This is a tough one for me. I have been humbled by many of my experiences, even though some were very painful. I woke up because of them....

According to this juicy tidbit the " overlapping" could continue for quite some time. Just do the math. This is an advertisement from the AWAKE magazine entitled " Many now living will never die ". Take the date of the last appearance of this ad, ( 1989 ) and throw in the average human life span, or the longest lived human on record and see when the end could come....... If this is another false prophecy, none of us will be alive to say " I told you so..".
05-22-1989 Awake!
This is no wild assertion. There are sound reasons to believe it.
The Watchtower and Awake! magazines regularly point to these Bible-based reasons. Send only $10 and you will receive both magazines (four copies a month) for one year, postpaid.
Please send a year's subscription for TheWatchtower and Awake! I enclose $10 (U.S.). (Outside the U.S.A., write to local Watch Tower branch for information.)

I don't know, would you? I Don't have an answer. Without the pain, and the experience from it, wouldn't you view everything differently and be a different person? Maybe we just have to find a new motivation for actions in life if we lose our anger and hurt. Maybe letting go of those familiar things even though painful, frightens us, and that's why we hold on to them ? I always thought that line from the movie was deep.

Since everyone is thinking of Star Trek this week, I have a question. In Star Trek V, Kirk has a chance to have his secret pain removed by Spock's half-brother. Kirk refuses, and says that he needs his pain because it makes us who we are. Have you ever wondered about that? Who would we be if it was all taken away? Would you still be you? Are you secretly afraid to be healed because you would be someone different? Just curious.... Also, you don't have to be a dub to answer.

Not really.. The only thing I noticed was happiness when one meeting was cancelled, and replaced by " Family Worship " night. The only real increase that I ever notice is around the CO visit, and that doesn't last. Well, maybe around the Memorial season and that doesn't last either. It just seems that the regular crowd who is always there despite what special events may be happening, the " regulars " are on the decrease. It could just be my imagination. I am mentally and emotionally out, just physically trapped for now, so maybe I have just stopped caring as much......

OOPS!!
Just curious. If you are an active JW, still in for whatever reason, what's meeting attendance like? My congregation just seems to be dying slowly. We recently got a talking to about meeting attendance being really low. The meetings are your life-line, blah, blah... Not only does the life seem to be slowly leaving all but the most indoctrinated of dubbies, but the KH is barely half- way filled. I wish nothing bad upon any victims of the WT, but I am hoping the waters dry up soon. Is anyone else noticing this trend?
