As much as I hate wearing a tight elastic band around my rib cage, it beats having them bouncing around (which hurts like heck).

Watchtower says:You can be Disfellowshiped for being FAT!!!!!
by Witness 007 inwatch 1974 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah...is food a big thing in his life?
in the presence of others does he selfishly ignore their needs and take far more than his fair share?
is he grossly overweight?

That 1974 article was titled "Is It Gluttony?" There was a joke running around the congregation about setting the table with clear glass plates and placing a copy of that magazine under each plate.
Even back then, being overweight or even obese was not incontrovertible evidence of gluttony. It was more about greedily sucking down more than your share while depriving others of their portions. Seriously, when does that ever happen in western countries?
A case could have been made against my father. My brother and his wife and my ex and I were visiting the folks one time, and we bought all the makings for pizza, which we planned to prepare the next day. When the time came to make the pizza we found about one inch of the pepperoni stick remaining in the fridge. We were all looking at each other when my father innocently piped up, "Oh, were you planning to use that?" He had eaten almost the whole foot-long stick of pepperoni during the night. I can't even imagine the spirited rebellion my stomach would have put up after an assault like that in the wee hours.

Good grief. Show me where the early Christians had branch offices.

Are you people kidding me?
We have a schism in what is probably the loosest confederation in history - JW apostates? How is that even possible?
One important life lesson that I learned while working in food service at a circuit assembly is that there's more than one way to core a head of lettuce.
JWN is one way to help disaffected JWs to find their path out, and AAWA is another.
Why not just pull the bunched-up panties out of your butts and live and let live, for pity's sake?

This cult has to many meetings.
Damn skippy they do! At my first meeting (age 12) I remember looking around at the audience and marveling that these people attend all of these meetings (and they were longer back then) week after week, year after year. The tedium seemed almost intolerable. However, when I told my father I didn't want to join he said, "Well, you'll have to anyway." [cue music from The Pit of Despair]

THE REAL REASON WHY THE WATCHTOWER NEVER WRITES ABOUT ISLAM OR MUSLIMS IS FEAR!
by ÁrbolesdeArabia infor a religion that claims to be "fearless and bold" the watchtower has avoided writing about islam and muslim practices and how they are part of babylon the great.
the attacks on christendom are not a bold move because the "tower" and "gb" know the christian church is not going to send a suicide bomber into a kingdom or district convention.
it's not fair to christendom to receive all the hate speech from the "leaning tower of brooklyn", why don't they write the truth about islam?

One has only to take a look at Salman Rushdie to know why any publishing house would pull its punches when talking about Islam. I wonder what the Ol' Judge would publish today if he were still at the helm?

You're doing great! My getting-out process took so long that by the time I made the actual break I didn't believe one word of that crap anymore, so no "God's gonna get me" worries.
However, I do still have dreams of being at meetings or assemblies and hating it or else trying to fake it that I'm still a Dub. I'm always glad when I wake up and realize it's just a dream. Sometimes I actually dream I'm arguing with my family trying to convince them that they should leave.
Big hugs to you!

Is this co-dependancy or just plain stupid?
by hoser inmy grandpa was a slobbering abusive drunk.
he treated my gramma like shit.
he was also abusive to his two children, my father and his sister, my aunt.

You're right - it's like staying in an abusive relationship.
My brother worships the memory of our father, even though the guy was abusive to us as kids and ran through money like a drunken sailor. Little brother is in denial about a lot of stuff AND he's still a staunch Dub.
