i've been seeing (but not really reading) a lot of articles about venezuela in the british press.
apparently, following much public unrest, there has been violence with opposition people being rounded up and possibly killed by the regime.
there may have been illegal voting in the country's last election.. corbyn and his comrades praised venezuela in the recent past, holding it up as some kind of shining example of socialism.. now they are eerily silent.. what in the blazes is going on?!
The extremes are always extreme, left or right.
Venezuela's gov has been in the process of slowly becoming a dictatorship over the past decade. Some of the people are attempting to fight back, but the roots of the regime have extended far and wide throughout most of the critical institutions, be it the media, social services and much of the market base. It's hard to undo all that shit without bloodshed. Especially when the gov has the military on it's side.

I've been seeing a bunch of videos similar to this one lately. It seem it's becoming a bit of a tradition to have "cultural displays" after special conventions.
Just yesterday I saw one of a crowd of at least 3 or 400 JWs that post-convention packed a public plaza in Milan to dance and sing to Kingdom Melodies while "worldly" folks looked on. I'll try to find the link

well last sunday night i got phone call from t- dum, he informed me that t-dee was listening in, no doubt practicing his short hand.
t-dum went on to say how he was concerned that we were making the biggest mistake of our lives, yada yada.

If you were ever an elder, you'd know that these individuals are just as indoctrinated as you probably once were and are only following what they believe to be God's theocratic arrangement and protocol.

Although I understand the sentiment in countering their shenanigans, I would always recommend one take the high rode and not step down to their level in being unnecessarily rude.
what is the minimum meeting attendace for someone, who is of good health, has not children doesn't work in a job that requires travel and lives about 3 miles from the kh?
is 50% for clam and 75% for watchtower acceptable?.

I have. That letter deals primarily with reduced field service activity by elders involved in "special theocratic arrangements", not meeting attendance.
Elders in circumstances described by the OP should, at least in most congregations, be expected to attend all meetings except for extreme reasons. Of course, some elders go out to give public talks every 1 to 2 months, but many, as was in my case when I was in, would also go to my meeting that weekend as well, so as to not miss it.
