Wouldn't it be the case that mapping the location and state of every atom that has ever existed require more energy than exists in the universe itself?

Why the resurrection must be true
by slimboyfat inokay i was thinking about it.
and it is a transhumanist argument and nothing new, i do realise that before anyone points it out.
but it struck me afresh today that the resurrection must happen.. firstly, to state the obvious, a rational materialist conception of reality seems to exclude resurrection.

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files
by Richard Oliver ini have been doing research on the arc as some people on here have suggested.
i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.
it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

The problem is not how many cases ocurred or wether the perp was elder or MS or even JW. The real problem lies with how WT deals with any such cases.
Their policies protect the perp, puts the victim and others at risk and is completely inadequate altogether in dealing with the issue.

Griffin Assembly Hall (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) now a Megachurch
by Sanchy inmy mom, while pregnant with me, was one of thousands of jw volunteers to work on the construction of this once beautiful assembly hall in south florida circa 1984. it had a beautiful pond, waterfall, and even a resident alligator.
many remember it as well for it's huge plaster murals on the walls showing scenes of paradises.. pics as it was before (sorry for the low quality, struggled to find good pics of the auditorium as it was, if you have any good ones, do share them):.

Hecce: That promise is a very "old and trusted con"
So true Hecce. Funny thing is that even after the WTB Auditorium loan was supposed to be paid out with the sale of this one, they were still asking for the same amount of money at assemblies ran on that location. I never quite understood that. Costs for a typ circuit assembly @WPB were anywhere from $20-25k before AND after the supposed paying off of loan.
Vidiot: There's a fundamental irony floating around here, somewhere...
It's somewhere in there I suppose lol

We were told that it was a very expensive building to maintain. Since they had just finished renovating a bigger auditorium in West Palm Beach, about a 30 min drive from this one, it made sense for them to consolidate the circuits and meet there instead.
We were also told that with the funds raised from the sale of this one we would pay off the loan due for the West Palm Beach auditorium and that we'd keep any leftover money for a possible newer, more efficient circuit hall closer to us in Miami.
Almost 7 years later, money from sale vanished and there's no more talk of a new hall closer to us.

Now it's the "West Temple" of a prominent Spanish Megachurch called "Segadores", which literally translates to "Reapers". Jehovah's house now has lights, singing and dancing, politicians speaking and even a Christmas tree in the entry lobby:

Is this a normal JW practice? Warning, this will be a bit graphic.
by Sequoia inthis post may be disturbing and i apologize, but i'm just trying to find out if this is a practice the jw teaches.
i was taken advantage of by a guy claiming to be a jw preacher.
he took me to his house supposedly so i could give his daughter piano lessons, and then he basically forced himself on me while telling me he was in love with me and wanted to marry me.

Hi Seqoia. No, JWs are not taught to romantically force themselves on people. If this person went further sexually than you wanted him to, thats sexual assault. If thats the case, you should report him to the authorities.

To "A Believer" and other JW's that lurk or participate.
by goingthruthemotions inyou think that coming to this site or other anti-jw sites and showing you support for the org is noble.
knowing how brainwashed you are makes me cringe and disgustes me and i am sure others here on the forum.
becasue your in a cult and can't see it.

I do understand your sentiment, yet, I also agree with joe. JWs that visit this site are minds that are subconsciously attempting to reinforce their reasons to believe what they believe, which in turn means they've likely begin questioning some of those beliefs to begin with. Future apostates I say.
A Believer himself is young and very uneducated regarding hardcore JW dogma. He(She?) wasn't even sure of the difference between the great crowd and the 144k. He's already come around to admitting in his latest OP that he does have some doubts. So let's cut him some slack.

There is a NEW Songbook?!
by My Name is of No Consequence ini am not talking about the one that the org came out with in 2010. i am talking about a new one that just came out.
it is completely different or is it just the 135 songs from the 2010 songbook plus the 16 that they have rolled out since then?
my head is spinning!.

I asked myself the same thing. It's quite a stretch to label it a "new songbook". More appropriately a revised version.
