I am not talking about the one that the org came out with in 2010. I am talking about a new one that just came out. It is completely different or is it just the 135 songs from the 2010 songbook plus the 16 that they have rolled out since then? I do not get it. My head is spinning!

What's the big deal? So they have new songs.

I asked myself the same thing. It's quite a stretch to label it a "new songbook". More appropriately a revised version.

    @ scratchme1010:

My point is that they just came out with a new one 7 years ago. Almost immediately, they started adding additional songs. I just have to wonder why. Like Sanchy said, apparently it is more of a revised songbook as opposed to a new one.

    Same bad songs, I guess.

As they have been focused on translations into more languages, they decided to revise the lyrics AND music to make it easier to translate. And along the way, they added new songs with a less 1920's choral sound and more modern tunes.

A lot of lyrics suddenly became "apostate" what with the newly revised NWT that came out in 2013.

If a religion comes out with the new songs for its members to sing or listen to, makes your head spin I'd suggestion you either need to get a life or see a psychiatrist.

It is unusual because the brown songbook seemed to be around for decades.

I wonder if this is the reason why the new song book was replaced:

That and David Splane fancies himself a maestro.
