a lot of us have gotten a kick out of those online personality tests.. we have also seen threads started from time to time that ask the question, why are you here?.

it would be good from time to time to ask our some questions and do some self-analization.. now we have a tool we can use to see if we are being honest with others and ourselves.. click on members at the top of the page and check on your self from time to time.. are we a positive influence or a negative one?.

if you think your not interested or dont care thats fine but dont be shocked when your past history comes and bites you on the ass.. i am glad to have this tool now so i can self regulate myself and can also use it to find out if a person is being honest,or basically up to no good.. i think we will see a little of every thing here.. some types i notice without even looking are,.

My point is this,

I meant for this to be a positive exercise in self-analyization for anyone interested.
I know we are not always honest with our selves and because of all the recent bickering on the board I thought it wouldn't hurt for us to take a look at ourselves.
I believe this can be a very positive thing.

When I thought of it I also realized it could be used in a negative way also,
As with any good idea.
I was just pointing that fact out.
I never meant to raise suspicions towards one another. In fact that’s the opposite of what I’m trying to do here.
My purpose is to help every one get along better.

News Reporters, Professors, Preachers, Councilors, Clowns, Trouble Makers, Whiners, and Tattle Tails, Assholes, Perverts, etc…
We have such diversity in personalities that we really shouldn’t be shocked when we all don’t get along all the time.
We also shouldn’t be shocked or jealous when some personalities are drawn together more than others. That is completely natural and not a conspiracy against everyone else.

Let’s check up on ourselves once in awhile or someone else will probably do it for us.

New Technology New Laws (Bible?)

new technology new laws (bible?).

with the rather recent internet technology comes a bunch of new moral issues and new laws which need to be made to govern its use.. new laws governing the internet use would not make sense, if written 100 years ago in the past.. i think this nicely illustrates the fact that, the more we learn the more some things change.

men are writing more and more laws as new issues come up, old issues also are re-examined and some old laws are discarded and more comprehensive new ones replace them.. the bibles 2 eye witnesses for a conviction was written, before photography, video, tape-recorders, or positive identification by fingerprints existed.

It's sad that there aren't more "clear thinking and reasoning"
people in charge at WT headquarters!

Holding to this anxcient outdated law has hurt so many people.
Thanks for pointing out so well how time and technology changes things.
We must keep up or we can no longer claim to be civilized.

I know that this research doesn't say Df'd ones won't be ressurected,it says ones who practice sin won't be ressurected but we as witnesses were taught that a Df'd person is not repentent,spiritually dead etc...so it is assumed.

This causes fear and confusion.

This is from the Insite #2 which is one of the main refrence books the Witnesses use.Alot of Witnesses believe that if you are still DF'd when the end comes you will be destroyed because of info provided below.
My mother believes this way.
She thinks my sister who is Df'd will die if not reinstated before the end comes.
When I was a witness I tried to reason with her because she suffered so much over this.
I told her that imperfect men can not know hearts and they make mistakes.I also told her that I did not care what the FDS said I knew Jehovah wouldn't be so shallow as to destroy people because of a title that men gave them!

Beyond repentance. Those ‘practicing sin willfully’ after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth have gone beyond the point of repentance, for they have rejected the very purpose for which God’s Son died and so have joined the ranks of those who sentenced him to death, in effect, ‘impaling the Son of God afresh for themselves and exposing him to public shame.’ (Heb 6:4-8; 10:26-29) This, then, is unforgivable sin. (Mr 3:28, 29) It would have been better for such “not to have accurately known the path of righteousness than after knowing it accurately to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them.”—2Pe 2:20-22.
Since Adam and Eve were perfect creatures, and since God’s command to them was explicit and understood by both, it is evident that their sinning was willful and was not excusable on the basis of any human weakness or imperfection. Hence, God’s words to them afterward offer no invitation to repentance. (Ge 3:16-24) So, too, with the spirit creature who had induced them into rebellion. His end and the end of other angelic creatures who joined him is everlasting destruction. (Ge 3:14, 15; Mt 25:41) Judas, though imperfect, had lived in intimate association with God’s own Son and yet turned traitor; Jesus himself referred to him as “the son of destruction.” (Joh 17:12) The apostate “man of lawlessness” is also called “the son of destruction.” (2Th 2:3; see ANTICHRIST; APOSTASY; MAN OF LAWLESSNESS.) All those classed as figurative “goats” at the time of Jesus’ kingly judgment of mankind likewise “depart into everlasting cutting-off,” no invitation to repentance being extended to them.—Mt 25:33, 41-46.
Resurrection Affords Opportunity. By contrast, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah as well as those of Canaanite Tyre and Sidon are spoken of by Jesus as finding “Judgment Day” more endurable than would the people of certain Jewish cities. (Mt 10:14, 15; 11:20-24) Those of pagan Nineveh are similarly spoken of. (Mt 12:41) This of itself implies that people from all such places, including the Jewish cities mentioned, will be resurrected and have opportunity to manifest humble repentance and “turn around” in conversion to God through Christ. Those failing to do so will receive everlasting destruction. (Compare Re 20:11-15; see JUDGMENT DAY.) Those, however, who follow a course like many scribes and Pharisees, who willfully and knowingly fought the manifestation of God’s spirit through Christ, will receive no resurrection, and so they cannot “flee from the judgment of Gehenna.”—Mt 23:13, 33; Mr 3:22-30.

trick or treating

of all the holidays, for me halloween has the least appeal.. i have a memory of going trick-or-treating once, at my "worldly" father's insistence (he roasted peanuts in the oven for the door-knockers... i remember), about the time my mom learned the truth.

i must've been about five years old.. despite the fact that i'm a hard-core agnostic and a fear of gods or demons are a non-issue, i still have trouble encouraging kids -- under the guise of costumes and fun -- of extorting treats from neighbors.

can i get a witness?

Here's your witness,

When I was a Witness and even when I wasn’t and still believed in the Bible I had a major problem with Halloween.
I felt there was no justification for celebrating this holiday and claim to be Christian. (Miss self-righteous!)

Now, I’m not a Witness and I don’ t believe the Bible is divinely inspired by God and I no longer fear spirits or the Devil, so Halloween seems fun to me now, but only the kinder side of it.
I do not promote blood and gore to my children.I've decorated our home for Fall,pumpkins,decorative corn baskets, candles and so on...

I am letting my son stay for the Halloween Party at school Wednesday for the first time ever.They will dress up that evening and we will have our first Halloween.
I have plenty of candy ready for the trick-or-treaters.
Not one ounce of guilt here.

I am also making treat bags for my son’s whole classes that afternoon for his class party.

I will be dressed as a cat that day because the Ladies'I club I belong to will be feeding the Lyons Club for lunch.
We will dress in Halloween costumes and decorate etc…

PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!!!!!!!!

We as a family are so happy to be free!!!
We are living now.

P.S. Today, I volunteered at my son’s school for their “SAY NO TO DRUGS” program.
I had to dress as a clown and hand out cake and stickers to the entire school at lunch.
That was a blast!
It was so funny to see their reactions and give them the attention they were craving.
These new experiences are wonderful because I finally feel alive!

Thoughts?

there are those who have left the jws and become athiest/agnostic/skeptic.

some would say those people have had their faith in god so shaken by the corrupt, man-made religion of jws that they have fallen into confusion and need to be shown the "right" way.. then there are those who have left the jws and found another version of christianity they feel is the proper way to worship the god of the bible.

some would say that those people have only swapped one religion for another and have failed to realize the greater truth that there is no god or that you can't know for sure which religion is correct.. i'd like to hear who people think is right and why.. and the more important question:.

Here's an answer just off the top of my head.

If you are religious, Athiest, Agnostic or whatever, and are at peace and and feel comfortable with your outlook on life then that's right for you.
If you define yourself as any of these things and you are unhappy and lost or confused you have to find the answers that are right for you.It takes personal effort and no one can do it for you.

This right or wrong business should be in my opinion, what is right or wrong for you, it's very personal.
When we think we've found the answer we don't need to force it on others like we did when we were JW's.
But sharing ideas and feelings is okay,in fact very good.
I hope this makes some sense to you.
