ok lets hear your pathetic excuses.
c'mon now don't be shy.
let's hear what you have to say.
Whatever happened to the "wanted dead or alive" hunt for Osama bin Ladin, who actually HAS attacked us?
We could be fighting in Iraq, and with all our National Guard gone who's gonna watch out for al Qaeda?
how often you may have song the chorus to song 14 god's loyal love with a lilt in your singing!
did you ever stop to think how much the writing department likes to use the word "ones"?
a closer examination indicates there's almost as many different "ones" as there are "classes"!
You missed "dear ones" (paragraph 3)
And in the Forgeoing Your Vacation for the Convention and Volunteering to
Clean toilets article, paragraph 6 mentions "such ones."
And WHAT is up with the Written Review question #9, where it says Jesus felt
intense emotional pressure in the Garden of Gethsemane because he was
concerned about how dying a criminal would affect Jehovah and His Holy Name?
I mean, he wouldn't have been upset about his upcoming slow and agonizing
torture and death, would he? Of course not, he was just worried about bringing
reproach on Jehovah's name.
And finally no KM would be complete without a reinforcement of shunning:
#35: "The loyalty that marks Jehovah's organization transcends every human
relationship, such as that of close flesh and blood realtives."

wll, i for one won't stand silently by and watch farkel throw away his talent on the likes of mozart, lindt, back, beethoven blah blah blah.. i think it's about time we demanded farkel make a career move that could place him in the upper echelon of world class musical artists.. yes, ladies and gents, it's time for farkel to record the kingdom melodies for our listening pleasure!!!!.
i'm sure farkel will take requests!.
farkel, i'd like to hear "move ahead," done apostate style.
That was awesome!
the february 8, 2003 awake has an article entitled:"is there an unforgivable sin".notice the good news for apostates or those who once associated.
"some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against god's spirit.
they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.

to those who used to read h2o last year, and have seen this, apologies.
dear all.
My uncle was from the deep south and whenever he gave the public talk he'd say "GEEE-ZUSSSSSSSSS" like that. After a couple of dozen of those I'd have to go outside and let the laughter out.
c'mon guys, we can celebrate our birthdays!!!.
post your birthdate here and let us know how you want to get your 'birthday card' (email, post on the board, text message, soaped-up kyliegram!).
my birthday is october 16th and i'd be happy to receive any of the above.. .
June 18
Where are all the other GEMINIs??? c'mon Junebugs...post your birthdays!
seems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.
i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?
how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.
First I'd like to address the original question! I was already out of the org for many years when places like this became available on the internet. Oh how I wish there was something like this when I first left! The mind control continued even though I had left. Finally, it was David Reed's newsletter and Randy Watters' newsletter that helped me see the hypocrisy, failed prophesies, deceit and cult tactics that I was able to rid myself of guilt and fear.
Many continue to follow a faith that celebrates Christmas and Easter, both of which are based on pagan customs
I just love this argument. I mean, I really do. If we were to follow this logic completely, there would be very little we COULD do. Our calendar... months and days... wedding rings... anniversaries... what was so wrong with paganism anyway? It's just another belief. Just because kids like Easter eggs doesn't take away from the fact that Christians celebrate Jesus' resurrection and the hope it brings for all of us. Do you think a little kid clutching a stuffed bunny is thinking about its pagan roots?? Do you think about pagan rituals when you look at your wedding band?
Christians commemorate Jesus' death too, on Good Friday. Unlike JWs, who commemmorate it by passing bread and wine which is to be consumed only by an elite few. That is not Biblical.
Not looking to pick a fight! Just stating my opinion.

my husband, who's a ministerial servant, was approached by an elder and asked if he'd offer our home to become a 'book study' meeting place.. i'm a bit of a loner, and need lots of peace, quiet, privacy, and solitude; plus to boot you all know i'm living this sort of double life, you know, just doing the very minimum to remain a witness.. this is awful!!!!!!!!!!
i can't deal with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
take care!
With all due respect, I think you have a bigger problem than the book study. You must love your hubby very much to do yourself the injustice of being spineless, either that or you are afraid of him.
If he goes ahead and agrees to the study even knowing you don't want it, IMHO that would be a sign of great disrespect for you and borders on abuse. He should have said "OK honey, we won't have it" immediately after hearing your objection and not make you wait to see what he'll do.
HUGS to you and I hope it all works out.
