Oh Simon, don't be ashamed of Sound of Music.I can't even count how many times I've watched that film. Here are a few of my favorite things (er, movies): Back to the Future Big Pretty in Pink Some Kind of Wonderful Meet the Parents Amelie Rat Race Forrest Gump Wizard of Oz Uncle Buck Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory just about any Jim Carey movie (I'm sorry, but the guy cracks me up...this does not include the movie The Majestic...blech!) I'm sure I've forgotten many, but these are the ones that come to the top of my head.

geez, leave it to jw's to blow everything out of proportion.I know it would tick me off if someone said I left my children behind when that is the farthest thing from the truth.Anyway flowerpower, good for you for leaving such an intolerent cult, and living your life the way you want too.By the way, what drama was your partner and her ex in?My husband was in a drama a few years back, but that was when our assemblies were in Providence.Funny thing is,I love to act,and I was pissed they didn't ask me to be in a drama....my husbands super shy and they asked him...lol

Hey redhorsewoman, You were in Attleboro,eh? When I was a teenager, some girls from Attleboro used to visit my aunt(she was in the Sandwich cong...she's been df for years)Kathleen. Also,I can remember some girls from Attleboro at parties and such.Actually,I thought they were rather snotty, but that was just me.They were more in the "in" crowd than I was.The last name that seems to stick out in my mind is Atwood, and also a girl named Deanna.Don't know if any of those names are familiar or not.Who did you meet from Falmouth? That was my hall.E-mail me if you'd like @ reneegrl69@yahoo.

Living a lie?
by Victorian sky ini've been inactive for several months.
i know it's not the truth and mentally i've walked away.
would it be living a lie to remain inactive?

I have been inactive for a few years now.As much as I would like to disassociate myself,it's not worth losing my family over. It's kinda funny though....I haven't been to a meeting in almost 5 years, but I have never been shunned.I ran into an elders wife the other day in a store, and she gave me a big hug! LOL If only she new what I really think about the religion!

Going where the "Need is Great"
by OUTLAW inlets go back in time, back to the late 60`s early 70`s..armagedon is coming and the wbts wants it`s members to sell every thing they got and preach in areas where there are few or no dubs..where did the people you know go?..my parents packed up their belongings and went to..the friggin bible belt of b.c..lol!
a good wind storm would knock a few christians out of trees there were so many..a bloody church on every street corner, and every one of them had the truth..so why the bible belt?..there were`nt many dubs there at the time, but most importantly property was cheap.a smart dub could make a killing at real estate, and they did..more money than you could shake a dead donkey at,lol!....my bud`s dad also went where the need was great.the dumb-ass religion broke his family up,his wife being a none believer and all.so where did my buds anointed dad go?..hawaii,lol!
where else would you go to rough it out till armagedon?

Back in '86 my sister went to County Cork Ireland to serve where the need was great. She met her now husband there. He was from England, and he also was serving where the need was great. As soon as they hooked up, they got out of there, and as far as I know, they've never gone to any other place to serve where the need was great. They are unfortunately still in the org though. Lots of people in my old cong go every summer for a few weeks to serve where the need is great. I never wanted to do that . I had a hard enough time preaching in my own element, never mind an unfamiliar one!!!
