Some dreams are too weird

worst dream i had (apart from armageddon ones) was when i stood up walked away from the sofa and when i looked back i could still see me sleeping on the sofa, that was shooooo weird.

so then i go up to me and grab me by the arm to wake me up, i could feel my arm as a seperate being....i woke up in a real sweat, totally freaked out.

Cali, pregnant women do have strange dreams. I had crazy dreams when I was pregnant. With my first pregnancy, I dreamt that I had just given birth to a baby girl. She was so tiny, but the hair she had on top of her head was my hubands hair ( brown with gray streaks ). Then everyone started asking me where my husband was. I said " Oh, he's down in the ICU, he couldn't handle the birth, and he passed out ".

During my third pregnancy, I dreamt that I pulled my baby out of my stomach, and it was a tiny baby boy. Since it wasn't quite big enough yet, I then proceeded to put the baby back into my stomach, til he was done cooking! LOL Turned out that that pregnancy I had a boy! ( all three did, actually )

Even my husband had strange dreams when I was pregnant. He once dreamt that our baby was a spider! Weird.

I have crazy dreams all the time. Last night I dreamt I was falling ( like Alice in Wonderland ), and at first I was scared, and then I just went with it. As I was falling, I kept seeing groups of starange things, like angels and jig-saw puzzle pieces.

One of the freakiest dreams I had was on a night my husband and I stayed at a bread and breakest. I dreamt that I was lying on the bed and my husband was lying on the bed next to me( but he was on top of the covers instead of under ). This was exactly how we had fallen asleep for real that night. I felt a prescence beside me, but I told myself it was nothing, that I was being silly, so I didn't open my eyes to look and see if someone was really there.Next thing I know, a figure comes up beside me and pulls the covers over my head, and holds the covers so I realise that soon I will suffocate because I am being smothered and I can't breathe. So try to call out to my husband, but I can't get the words out of my mouth. I finally wake up. I can tell you that after I woke from this dream I could not get back to sleep. I stayed awake til 5 in the morning, watching every corner of the room making sure no one was really there! My husband teased me that maybe it wasn't a dream and that the place was haunted ( the bed and breakfast was a remodeled belfry ). It scared the heck out of me I can tell you!!Kind of ruined a nice night away from the kids!

just wanted to say hello to everyone.

as i am new here, i have lots of questions for all of you, but will hopefully have them answered over the next few weeks.

anyways, i was in the truth for many years, and suffered horribly from depression.

I agree with you about mentally unbalanced people in the organization. My step-father was manic depressive bi-polar, and I think he liked the idea of structure that the jw's brought to his life. He also liked he whole headship thing, that way he always got his way by saying it was Jehovah's will. I think a lot of depressed people are drawn to the org. because it gives them hope for something better, a time when they can be perfect and feel good about things. Unfortunately these same ones that think it will be a haven, find it is a hell, because then they feel guilty about not doing enough,etc.

Anyway, glad to have you here, and I look foward to your future posts!

Help! Spouse thinks JW religion the most logical

my husband and i were discussing what makes some people become jw's last night.

i was saying that if i hadn't grown up in it, i would have never been drawn to it at all.

i'm not a very spiritual person.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I just finished checking out all the links ( got a bit sidetracked reading everything ).

Runingman, your thread on jw logic fallacies was great. I intend on printing that out and leaving it hanging around. We'll see what happens.

OMG, Garybuss, you cracked me up with " The Truth ( as I see it ) ". I actually laughed out loud reading the second paragraph. I always wanted someone to explain the logic of the ressurection for me. Growing up, we were taught other religions were silly for believing that people's souls went to heaven. I thought it was awful starnge how god would keep someone's memories and then make a new body and plant their memories ( although not all their memories because they weren't supposed to remember the old system ) or their personalities back into these new bodies. And if it was so silly to believe in a soul leaving a body to go to heaven, then wasn't it silly to believe that the 144,0000 would go to heaven? I never found any of those teachings to be logical at all, but I was taught that was the way it was, so accept it or else. I also couldn't understand why the dead sinners got a second chance, but if a sinner was alive at Armageddon he had no second chances. No one could ever give me a logical answer on that one either. If I questioned the logic of jw, then I was questioning Jehovah, and god forbid that happen!

We've decided to have a baby! (Advice needed)

i know that many of you gave me the advice to wait until i'm done with school, but what can i say, i'm stubborn .

please share your pre-pregnancy and pregnancy tips that either made things smoother or things you wish you has done to make things easier.

i also want opinions on such things as epidurals, circumcision, nutrition, breast-feeding, money saving tips, etc.

Here's a funny story. When I was pregnant with my first son, I was doing a lot of reading on circumcision. I asked my husband what he thought. You know what he asked me? lol He asked me if he was circumcised! The man did not know he was circumcised. I guess he never thought about it.He had no problem with our boys not being circumcised. He was happy not to have them be in pain. I personally think he wouldn't have cared too much either way. I think we as woman think to much about how our boys will feel later in life, when in actuality they probably don't even think too much about it. I could be wrong. What's the concensus out there guys? Let us know!

Thanks so much to everyones replies. I am going to check out all the links you've added tomorrow .I have to go to work now, otherwise I'd check them out now.

Btw Analysis, hubby went to college before he became a witness. His mom became a witness when he was a teen, but his father wasn't one, so it wasn't pushed on him. After he graduated college, he started studying, then got baptised. He actually gave up a job offer to go out on the research vessel from WHOI because it would keep him away from the meetings and such. So sad. Right now he's really into a project at work ( making a virtual herbarium for seaweed ) so he has missed a lot of meetings working on that. I'm kinda hoping if I can show him info while he's not as active as he feels he should be,that maybe I'll get somewhere. It's worth a try. I do love him, we've been married 15 years and have 3 kids together. I really don't want my kids growing up with all the jw bull$hit.But I'm certainly not willing to break up my family over it.

There's no right time to have a baby. Some circumstances may make it better, but I say go for it if that's what you want. Just be aware that once the baby's there, you will have a constant companion, and won't have much time t yourself.

It's great that you're reading "What to expect when you're expecting".That book was like a bible to me when I was pregnant.

Breastfeeding....great if you can do it. I breastfed all three of my boys, and it was wonderful experience.

Circumcision....whatever you decide is fine. I decided not to have my boys circumcised. I couldn't bear the thought of my babies going through that pain for no real reason. The fact that they wouldn't remember it had no bearing on my decision..I knew that I'd remember it! My husband is circumcised, and my kids haven't even noticed. I asked my 14 year old if he feels different, and he said not at all. He just shrugged his shoulders and said "It doesn't matter at all...what difference would it make". And contrary to popular opinion, it's not hard at all for them to keep clean.

Congrats are in order! It will be the best decision you ever made. Kids are the best!!!

LOL...guess what Analysis?! My husband works in Woods Hole! He is surrounded by scientists every day. He has a BS in marine biology, and he works as head of periodicals at MBL ( Marine Biological Laboratory ). The kind of stuff you're talking about doesn't phase him. He believes in God creating everything, so I'm better off with a tactic that proves the religion is run by men, not by God. Thanks for all your info though!

Has anybody read any good books that I should get and leave hanging around the house? Has anyone read "Crisis of Conscience", and if it is good, were might I find a copy? Any sugggestions would be helpful. Thanks again guys. You're all great!!
