If you let your kids go anywhere near a kingdom hall you are out of your mind. You have no IDEA of the indoctrination that goes on. If she wants to go, well that's an adult making an adult decision. But keep your children well away.
If I were the kids mother I would make a huge issue about the kids going there.
Sorry to be so blunt but you can't possibly understand. I'm totally with Villagegirl on that one.

Need to find those Km or Wt articles encouraging all to read the old publications!
by stuckinarut2 ini have been dropping comments to a few re some classic old beliefs and teachings etc... and when asked "where did you read that, or how come you are saying such and such?
" i have replied "well, you remember we have often been told to study and research our old 'theocratic history' and 'old gems' of material?....
now though i have been challenged to prove where this has been printed!.

People 'mark' the thread so that they can find it again for reference, presumably by looking through threads they've posted on.
I've never really understood why they don't just bookmark the page in their browser but hey ho

If Someone Mocks Jehovah's Witnesses Does That Bother You?
by minimus inevery once in a while i hear people purposely make fun of jws, calling them hovas, jeehoovers, etc.
i don't think that's a good way to reach them..

Nope doesn't bother me at all. I suppose in truth it depends if by JW you mean the WT or individuals. I definitely don't have a problem with mocking the WT. Individual JWs I'd decide on merit(!)
Sometimes it feels like there's this unwritten rule that even if you leave you still have to show some respect. Almost as if they still make the rules and everyone has to follow them. Well I'm afraid that i don't play by their rules at all. They don't have a problem mocking other religions, denominations or individual believers. Assembly programmes are full of accounts poking fun at non-JWs.

Could they walk any slower on the ministry(tm)?
by punkofnice ini was out in my car this saturday as i went to visit my friend.. i saw the jws scattered about mooching down the streets.. i arrived home in a different area to where my friend lives.
as i opened my door there was an invitation to the mock the christ ritual.
a group of jws mooched past my house, looked at me rather lethargically and carried on mooching along.. considering they don't know i'm an 'apostate(tm)', they certainly were in no hurry to beg me to come to their mock the christ charade considering that if i don't go jar-hoover will lovingly murder me soon (subject to overlapping(tm) ).. i know we had 'the pioneer walk(tm)' back in the day but puh-leeeeeeeze!

Couldn't agree more NY44
But they manage to deflect from having to measure productivity by their convenient 'watchman/giving witness' interpretation which justifies the 'nobody listens or cares but we warned them' mindset.

If they were being paid to do their work commercially they would be sacked.

Typical WT
Don't support it's elders if they get caught following WT policy, disfellowship them if they don't. -

I am DF'd and a JW sister called me to tell me she wants to leave
by KateWild inone of my dear loved ones called me.
she knows i am df'd and she wanted to reach out to me.
she fell away for a few years, and when she came back i had a study with her before she became active again.

There is another alternative. All friendships are different. Yes we'd all like to shout TTATT from the highest building but that doesn't always work. I have salvaged some good friendships by simply agreeing not to talk religion. It can work :-)

I agree with what Jgnat said :-)
Just thinking on the human side for a moment, I would still be a little guarded. I know that you are DF'd so from that point of view there is not much else they can do to you, but on a one to one level there is nothing quite as hurtful as opening up to someone and then them turning it back on you when they have a change of heart.
Whenever I let a JW or ex-JW into my life I make it quite clear that I don't play by WT rules. So if I allow them back I expected them to show mutual respect. JWs think they are the master race and can treat people in a despicable manner if it suits them or if they have a change of heart. I make it clear in a firm but open way, that if that happens then I will terminate the 'friendship' and it will be for good. I look at this as protection for myself and my family. In short, I do not trust them but I am willing to give them a chance. But only once.My advice would be to be cautious. That said, I hope a friend comes back into your life. It has happened to me several times. :-)

Designs: Are you for real?
Have you ever been to a meeting and seen a 'demonstration'?
Seems you're not grasping the concept . . .
