CONFIRMED Book Study amalgamated with the TMS and SM
by yesidid in.
old timers on the board may remember that i was the first to mention the november 06 blood insert in the km.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121104/1.ashx.
the same very, very reliable source has confirmed that the book study will be amalgamated with the tms and sm.. this same source recently had a long and private conversation with a gb member.

LOL at this lot . . .
I actually believe this is a step back to go forward.
Yes they need to get rid of a weekly meeting - I'm not sure how they've sustained 3 obligatory meetings a week for this long.
But one mega meeting midweek still isn't the solution - within a year attendances will be low when everyone realises if you skip it you get a WHOLE WEEK OFF!In another 20 years they'll realise what Babylon the Great realised centuries ago . . .
That if you want to go to church, once a week on a Sunday is just about right
That's my prediction - All meetings on a Sunday (like foreign language) within 20 years. Field service only on a Saturday.
They may actually grow/retain members this way.
A suggested tithe within 10 years . . .By the way I do think there is one small group who will be upset about this . . .
The jumped up, reaching out, up the PO/CO's arse "21 year old elder" who's just been made Book Study Conductor
I can just see the look on their faces -

My dad just came out... as one of the annointed
by Pwned ini know i don't post here that often but this just kind of blew me away.
my dad just "came out" recently as annointed and i find it so weird.
he's always been pretty level headed and he's been in for over 30 years.

Gotta suck for your mom though.
That hadn't occurred to me.
Everyone who becomes anointed leaves a "Great Crowd Widow/Widower"
Aside from that I actually hope that the floodgates open. A Great Crowd which was smaller than the Little Flock would be highly amusing.

Second time today I agree with Tij (see quiz . . .)
Vai, Malmsteen and Satriani were the 3 that came to mind - and they don't do anything for me no matter how fast they widddly woo all day . . .
Of the 3 above I prefer Satriani because at least "Flying in a Blue Dream" had "songs" on it.My award for "can't watch him without it putting a big smile on your face" goes to Angus Young from AC/DC
But my favourite like Tij would have to go to (possibly) my all time favourite band . . .
Robert Smith from The Cure - very underated

3 a.m. - my wife is in tears! What do I do?
by The Scotsman inwell my situation has developed a bit, any advice appreciated.. their has been a gradual building up of pressure ever since i stood down as an elder about 6 months ago.. i have been telling my wife about my doubts but have continued to attend "some" meetings.. as time has progressed i have become more open with my criticism of the org.. i mentioned the un scandal, molestation trials, false prophecy ect etc.. interestingly she does not deny these facts and yet still wants to continue as a jw.. i told her that god is not happy with people knowingly being part of a false prophet (deut 18 - etc) - starting to lay the groundwork for my exit.. she appreciates the difficult situation doubters are in - they cannot openly express their feelings for fear of jcs.. anyway, a few weeks ago we moved house which meant changing congregation.. but i felt it would be best if i did not attend meetings " at all" at the new cong so my fade could be easier.. but i could not have predicted my wifes response - when i told her it was an explosion of emotion, i mean real heartbreaker stuff.. she seems depressed at the prospect, perhaps the reality is finally hitting home.. last night, about 3a.m.
i noticed that she was not in bed.
i went downstairs and she was sobbing away to herself.. "i can't go to that hall myself!

So back to 3 a.m. - My wife says this - "At this point I just want to pack it all in, I cant bare going on my own. It is easier not to attend".
What a great idea!
A thought worth nurturing . . .
I'm sure that a couple of months of that and a new routine of a nice lay in (don't know if you have kids!) on a Sunday morning and then Sunday lunch out or at home, followed by a nice walk etc etc and the thought of going back doesn't seem so attractive - especially if your life remains/becomes full of purpose.
