It's hard being in the org when you want to get out so much. When I started to learn about the Society, I tried to give it a year, hoping it would get better some how. It didn't.
I was raised in the org, family are still in, all of my friends were witnesses. Was a typical "good Witness girl" (yes, really!)
At some point you will have to make a decision. But take your time, and I hope your wife will be understanding of you.
unfortunately, i'm not quite sure what my questions are.
my first post was in the "dating..." forum, if anyone's interested.. the biggest problem i have is my complete ignorance concerning jw's and their beliefs/ practices.
the research i've done has provided only polar opposite views, either jw is the way or it's a cult and it's wrong.
Looking at this from another female's perspective, I'd say she is in a confused state at the moment.
In your other post, Texasbred, you stated that she smokes, has got drunk, and sleeps with you. If this came to light in her congregation, she would have 2 options - a) to be seen as repentant, she would have to give you up and end the relationship. She may/may not be disfellowshipped; or b) come clean and end her relationship with the WTS, and be disfellowshipped, and continue her relationship with you.
In the eyes of her religion, she cannot have her cake and eat it too.
She knows what these options before her are.
As she has family in the religion, no doubt she does not want to lose that connection, as well as friends she may have. If she does lose them, you may be her only friend she can rely on. She will need you then like never before.
I have to say I find it amazing to think she thinks she can live two lives and get away with it. She won't be able to keep this up for too long. The decision will lie with her. It's her life.

i'm curious: how many years were you in before you left?
by left, i mean either df'd and decided not to go back, or da'd, or faded, or even just realized it was a crock but stuck around anyway for family reasons?.
we're told in la-la-land that it's the newly baptized, those who are "spiritually immature" that mostly leave.
I was raised as a Witness, 3rd generation, father an elder, sister pioneered.
I was baptised in my late teens, did everything a good witness girl was supposed to do and be.
Then as I approached my late 20s, I realised there was something wrong. Too many contradictions, double meanings, injustices. I finally decided to follow my conscience and looked into things.
I left, and am not disassociated nor disfellowshipped. I did not leave because I wanted to be bad nor have I lost my faith in God. I have a better relationship with Him than ever, and I am happier than I have ever been.
i hope this is a friendly place, because i could sure use some friends.

You are certainly not alone in your journey, and at this site you have discovered many fellow travellers. We are all at different levels of learning the truth about the "truth" so you will read and learn much here.
As you have only just begun your journey, take it slowly. You have family in the org, as do many of us, and it's a fine line to tread. Don't rush in anything. Take everything one step at a time, while you sort out your thoughts on things. It is a long road ahead of you.
And you're not alone.

whether i am a lutheran, catholic, jehovahs witness, mormon jew or any other religion i can play the part quite well.
as a matter of fact most of us can.
i can be regular at my places of worship, give generously , teach sunday school, read my.

I agree with your sentiments. The WTS fails to understand the simple commandments Jesus gave. Instead, they act like the Pharisees and put rules upon more rules.

I know for a fact that Amicus has been very busy work-wise and has not had the time to be on-line much. In addition, he was turned away by the out-right hostility that was here a few weeks ago, so had little inclination to come here. But he will be back, he says.
