Even better, she is coming over to my house in a few minutes to work on our picture albums (scrapbooks). I have fresh baked cookies and will make lattes. In fact, the kids just ran to answer the door!
Have a great day everyone!

i am sending this letter via email to both my local hospital and to several doctors (different version) who have occasion to treat my immediate family.. i thought that i would post such on the db so that others here could also do the same.
however, i would ask that you do not completely duplicate the letter, in the event that the same hospital or same doctor receive this more than once, and discard it as a hoax.
please take the time to change some of the wording, and personalize it to your own circumstances.. i will post any received replies, and i ask that others please do the same.. *****************************************.
Sorry to just jump in here. Blue's story and Wendy's comments reminded me of when I was in the hospital having my first child. We were on our way out of JWs then and I had given JW as my religion. Two witnesses visited me the day after my son was born. They come in daily to make the rounds of the witness patients. I bet they were wondering where my bright yellow "NO BLOOD" wristband was.
Two years later while in for my second baby, I just wrote christian as religion. No visit. Maybe that is what the admittance clerk meant when she said they notify the church elders. The elders that visited me weren't from the local hall even. I didn't know them and I'd lived here all my life as a dub.
Just a thought.

we cut a christmas tree this afternoon at a u-cut lot about one hundred miles from home.
we were on our way home from my mother-in-law's house and thought we'd start a new tradition.
we had ideas of tromping through the woods with the kids looking for the perfect tree.
The kids were very excited to see the nest. I bought a fake bird at the store today and my three year old put it in the nest. I wrapped the lights around the nest to highlight it a bit before continuing around the tree. Looks nice, not obvious, you have to look to find it.
Sean, I was thinking about wrapping it up and always having our nest in the tree. Good idea. I didn't mean to be harsh by saying daddy killed the tree, but Rhys asked if it was still alive just seconds after the saw cut through the trunk! I don't feel bad about cutting it down, we certainly aren't tree huggers. I feel good about supporting the guy who owns the tree farm. There was no one "manning" the lot. Just a sign with prices and a metal box to put money in, all done on the honor system and it was hard getting the money in that box, it was so full. They even had saws to borrow and a box of cut holly for anyone who bought a tree. Neat place, much nicer than a lot on the corner with $50 trees. After Christmas we'll take it to the boys scouts to turn it into mulch.
Mom, don't get an artificial tree! They don't smell good. Just keep it watered and there isn't a fire hazard. You need to get a real one at least once...please?
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.

We cut a Christmas tree this afternoon at a u-cut lot about one hundred miles from home. We were on our way home from my mother-in-law's house and thought we'd start a new tradition. We had ideas of tromping through the woods with the kids looking for the perfect tree. We wanted a Noble fir with strong branches but they were puny. There were lots of pretty grand firs and douglas firs but the kids and I followed the prince across acres of trees. Both kids tripped and fell a couple of times. Both kids cried each time they fell. I was wondering what the prince was looking for and finally my five year old said "can't we just cut down a tree and go home?". I started carefully checking out all the trees the prince was walking by. Finally after walking 'round one a couple of times I called him back and declared I had found the tree. It wasn't perfect, a grand fir, nicely shaped with none of the big open holes that the prince's pick of last year had. He didn't pause, just knelt down and cut it down. "Is the tree alive?" my son asked. "Not anymore" I said. "Daddy just killed it, but we'll put it in water and it'll keep drinking it until Christmas."
Then came the process of preparing the tree for the 100 mile journey home. We wrapped it in a big blue tarp and carefully put it on top of the minivan. He tied it down snug and I had visions of returning home with a trunk and sticks with needles scattered from Napavine to Edmonds. It made it home. He pounded it on the driveway to dislodge the loose needles and we put it in the stand in front of the window of honor. We decided that was enough excitement for the day and we will decorate it Monday evening.
We put the kids to bed and I spent a bit of time here on the board catching up with the new posts of the weekend. When we wandered back into the livingroom to admire our tree once more, some brown twigs caught my eye. I said "what is that?" and reached inside the tree adn pulled out a bird's nest. Perfectly shaped and long abandoned, a lovely bird's nest made it all the way from that u-cut tree farm to our livingroom without any of us seeing it. We decided to leave it there and decorate around it, or maybe even decorate the nest to highlight it. How many people get to have a christmas tree with such a special gift tucked inside? Our tree held small lives for a short time, then watched them fly away into the great blue skies. I think that's pretty special and I can't wait to show my kids in the morning.

imagining the beauty of a loved ones face, long departed.
remembering a single moment in life that causes your spirit to sing.
having that sensation that you just awakened to a whole new world, filled with that tingle in your stomach feeling, you had when kissing your very first lover.
Thanks for starting this Dannybear.
When my son was just three he sang in his first Christmas concert. I just sat and wiped tears through the whole thing. Couldn't talk, afraid I'd start sobbing. Of course he was messing around on the stage a lot and the only thing he really sang was jingle bells but I loved every second and caught the whole thing on video.
Last weekend I took my three year old daughter to her first ballet. Pacific Northwest Ballet danced the Nutcracker at the Opera House in Seattle. Cost me $55 a ticket but worth every penny to see my little Princess' eyes light up when the ballerinas started to dance. She loves ballet and watches Barbie in the Nutcracker every day, but she had never seen live ballet. She just sat and watched the whole thing, never squirmed or talked. I'll never forget it.
My son has a way of making everyone feel great. He climbs on my lap several times a day just to tell me he loves me. He always greets his grandma Marilyn (mulan) and grandpa with a big hug. His eyes shine at Christmas.

my friend just called me from her cell phone, and is out in service, sunday morning.
complaining like mad.
it's snowing here, and she is miserable.
Ah Sundays! Every Sunday the Prince gets up with the kids so I can sleep in. This weekend we were at Grandma's house (other grandma, not Mulan) and the kids kept coming in to check on me. I slept a bit, stayed in bed until 9:30 just because I could. Then my mother in law made me a huge ham and cheese omelette (prince called them heart failure omelettes) and I drank my coffee. Then I took pictures of the kids decorating grandma's christmas tree. We stopped at a tree farm on our way home and cut a tree...I can smell it from my downstairs office. I love the smell of a christmas tree!
It was a joke between my brothers and I that on Sundays mom and dad were always in a bad mood. When the prince started hanging out at our house he was always puzzled by the mood in the house on the weekend. I just shrugged and said it's always like this on Sundays! I'd be in a bad mood too if I had to get up early and feed and dress a bunch of kids and haul them off to the KH. Misery.
I'm looking forward to meeting Makena and Sabine. I share your love for champagne, homemade lattes and Mulan of course!
Sundays are the greatest!
