I best remember the small kids that could not keep quiet being dragged to the toilets in the back. They were always very orderly when returning.

What do you make of this recent article regarding the United Nations stance towards overriding religions of the world on certain matters?
by devout_no_more infirst of all, this is my first post here on the forums even though i have been registered now for some time.
i have been faded from the jehovah's witness religion for many years now, but only recently within the past year or so gotten quite serious about it - crisis of conscience by ramond franz really kicked things off for me personally.. anyway, my wife, parents, step-sister and her husband and my half-brother are all still active jw's, so i am still exposed to them, and this is also the reason why i'm still "faded".
frankly i'd probably just as soon disassociate myself without the threat of being shunned.

Revelation does not talk about chips in people but a chip in us all is very likely. It is simple futurist speculation. The same goes with beliefs considered divisive and a threath to public order. Currently the tactic is to sell these regulations by appealing to feelings but it could get more forceful. A ban on religion is not around the corner. Muslims would go bananas and they dont turn the other cheek -

When do the 2300 days begin?
by Kosonen inwhen to begin the countdown of the 2300 days?
to get an idea, it could be helpful to discern when those days end relative to time times and half a time.. i see a possibility that the 2300 days end the same day as the 1260 days.
that is because the woman in revelation 12 will be fed 1260 days.

42 months were for some strange reason the duration of Nero's persecution 64-68 and the war with Rome 67-70

Man using his reasoning to determine God's existence or judging His actions makes as much sense as amoeba University ruling out that of man. But it is ok we try

Cofty, you dismiss God because you lost faith in your invested faith in what men have told you. If you had a genuine relationship with God that had not been an option. It is what it is. I know you think you had black belt in faith like any jw elder

People to whom God exists upon reason had no experience with God. All they ever had was knowledge and faith in men

The irony of 2 Tim 3:16-17
by pseudoxristos inall scripture is inspired of god and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of god may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.. most scholars don't think paul wrote 2 timothy.. every time i here a witness quote this verse, i will be reminded of the irony.. -undisputed-.

Does prophesy negate free will?
by Tim207 innot sure if this is in the right subject but here it goes.
i’ve asked this question to a few elders and bethelites but they don’t seem to understand or like the question.
to start off we have to agree that jehovah is all powerful.

Cofty,
I know JWism. I agree it has little to do with thinking for yourself. But the really sad thing is that many ex JWs think they belonged to some crack unit of true religion when in fact all they had was a very poor substitute for the real thing.

God on trial. We can put God on trial and unlike what they teach at the kingdom hall that is perfectly ok. But it will evidently not do much good. The existence of God does not depend on human reasoning. The whole idea of philosophical arguments pro and contra God are ridiculous. The Epicurean paradox places the experience of man in the center of the universe but not even scientific philosophies agree that man is in the center of everything. While it is obviously natural for man to yell when he feel pain, this whole Epicurean paradox is about who is in charge. Although few men have the feeling of being in charge of their life, they naturally abhor the idea of God being in charge. Groan creation, groan. It is ok. It is birth pangs.
