Regarding Acts 15 and a "Governing Body"
by Ding ini couldn't find a window on which to post in xtreemlyconfused17's acts 15 thread, so i'm responding here.
some elder claimed that acts 15 shows the existence of a first century governing body.. quite the opposite!.
let's back up to acts 13. there, the holy spirit called saul (paul) and barnabas to missionary work.

bible no other book
by bobld inmany say,no other book in all history compares with it.. widely owned book, one least read.people don't understand it.. it's wisdom unmatched, guide for all, brings peace, joy etc and a gift from god.. yet you read kings and chronicles and you see evil rulers like hiltler,stalin.. read ruth..purchase a wife and land on the witnesses of removing a sandal.. where do you get away with, a jew(god's people) marrying a gentile.. try reading your kids a bedtime story from revelation.. the r.c almost had it right when they burnt the bible, they didn't go far enough..

Was There REALLY a First Century "Governing Body"??
by Lady Liberty infirst century governing body?the watchtower claims that a formal governing body was established in the first century, which is used as the basis for how the governing body of the watchtower society operate today.. "while all anointed christians collectively form god's household, there is abundant evidence that christ chose a small number of men out of the slave class to serve as a visible governing body.
the early history of the congregation shows that the 12 apostles, including matthias, were the foundation of the first-century governing body.
" - watchtower 1990 mar 15 p.11 the term "governing body" is 'loaded language' as it never appears in the scriptures and so has unique application within the pages of the watchtower.

Lies Lead to Loss of Life
by biometrics in11 in the days of jeremiah there were false prophets who tried to keep the people from doing what gods prophet jeremiah told them to do.
these false prophets worked injury to the people and brought about the destruction of many.
some of them will by no means pass away until all things occur.luke 21:32.. .

by xtreemlyconfused17 in"it was paul's melding of messianic judaism with the traditional pagan religions that was an astonishing, and disastrous, innovation.
paul never met jesus and didn't bother to see jesus' apostles before starting his own mission to convert the world.
his radical, strange and mystical version of christianity had virtually nothing in common with anything jesus said.
