Tony Morris can be accused of any and all problems that ex-JW;'s have faced during his tenure in the GB, not just CSA.
By that logic, should Raymond Franz be accused of covering up abuse cases that happened in the 70's? There are dozens of such cases filed across the US.
hi i want to tell my story and get advice.
i'm a single sister ( in usa) that has been baptized for 20 years.
i came from the world, so did not grow up in the truth and i have no family in the truth -- i am alone.. last year i met a brother & we did have premarital sex while we were dating.
I didn't know all of that. I'm from the world....I wasn't aware that repentance had to involve the elders because I had already repented on my own
Hi Sue, you said that you have been a baptized witness for over 20 years. How could you not know about all these things? In JW's repentance for major sins like immorality always involves elders. That's the basic statement mentioned in the OD book:
"Some serious offenses, such as sexual immorality, adultery, homosexuality, blasphemy, apostasy, idolatry, and similar gross sins, require more than forgiveness. Because the spiritual and moral cleanness of the congregation are threatened, such serious sins must be reported to the elders and handled by them. Some individuals may approach the elders either to confess their own sin or to report what they know regarding the wrongdoing of others. If it is established that there is substance to the report and that evidence is available showing that a serious sin has been committed, the body of elders will assign a judicial committee of at least three elders to handle the matter."
I guess I can't wrap my head around the need to confess something that has already been resolved.
I am not sure about your reasoning. In the JW world marriage does not resolve your pre-marital sex. I hope you did'nt say this to your JC.

You have seven days (from the date when they told you of the decision) to submit an appeal in writing stating why you feel a serious error in judgment has been made.

Have you appealed the decision?

I don't feel it's right that I was df'd when I was fully repentant.
That's where the problem is. The fact that you didn't confess on your own was the reason. The first question of the indicator of repentance in the elders' book is
Was his confession voluntary, or did he have to be accused by others?
But anyways, given that you were forthcoming in your answers, you will be accepted back within a year.
today i discovered the musical highlight of jehovah's witnesses, recently added to jw.org.
we had "from house to house, from door to door", but this song will be more famous!
https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=e&docid=1014316&srcid=share.
This is not a new music. It was released 8 years ago.
i once gave this book to a woman with kids at the door...to my shock my next visit she gave it back saying it was discusting and full of violence and sex!
this book was clearly written by some bethel loser with no kids.
i don't understand why witnesses don't have a separate kids school..
You didn't know that the book had such stories before you gave it to her?
the new direction in the new elders book is very clear.
absolutely no jd if there is a suspicion of suicidal thoughts.. this is obviously due to the high number of suicidal attempts after the announcement that someone is no longer a jw and the shunning that accompanied it.. so what will happen now going forward if situations arise where there would formerly have been a jd and they say there is suicidal thoughts?.
i can’t see it working, but elders stick rigidly to what it says in the book.
The change now is that the JC will not even be formed or go ahead
That's not the case.
The recent direction says: In judicial cases in which the accused threatens suicide, it may be best for the committee to suspend the hearing to focus on helping him regain his balance.
The Judicial Committee is always formed if the wrongdoing ticks the list mentioned in Chapter 12. Only the hearing is suspended.

It is not a new direction. It has always been the case.
It was communicated through policy letters during the reign of the ks91 elders book (1977-2009)
It was also mentioned in the ks10 elders book (Chapter 6, Point 16) (2010-2019)
and it has been in the new elders' book (Chapter 15, Point 17) (2020- current)
Judicial committees are suspended till the accused is seen fit enough for the committee to resume. His shepherding begins and is continued till he is deemed fit for the JC to resume. If the elders find out that suicide was just a ruse, then disfellowshipping is confirmed. The situation can get messy if the accuser is vindictive and wants to see the accused punished.
A JC once formed never goes away. I have been on some JCs. Many people find it easier to cry, gain mercy, and then quietly fade away, rather than threaten suicide or legal action and make a mess out of everything.
