  It astonishes me that the organisation does not inform people during their study 'to become members' that they have such a policy.

  If anything the organisation is clearly becoming stricter when it comes to shunning. It's also interesting that the exclusive bretheren similarly phased in a very strict shunning policy some time ago. The bretherens shunning policy is absolutely shocking and even worse than Jehovah's witnesses.

  This very Policy is the main reason I have decided to fade. I could no longer morally try to bring people into a 'seemingly benign loving religion', only to later realise they are part of a high control, restrictive, intrusive organisation/publishing corporation.

  it started when i was just two years old and ended just one week after 9/11, 2001 just three weeks before my fifty second birthday.

  i was basically raised in that thought system i became a full time minister in my late teens.

  Hi Toes up. Thanks for your reply. I listen to this recording at various times to remind myself that we are part of a high control religion. I felt disgusted when I first heard it. My heart goes out to this poor girl. I have a daughter myself and would never do that to her.

  When I hear this woman's plea's to these so called shepherds, it seriously breaks my heart. Had. I known this religion promoted this disgusting policy when I was studying as a young man, I would have bolted. Shame on these elders, shame on the Governing body!

  I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but think they have absolutely no other option but to change things big time. The charity commission here in the UK are looking into the organisations policies on safeguarding and shunning. They will be scrutinizing everything. The possibility of losing their charity status would hit them very hard financially. And we all know how much money matters to the organisation. Couple this with the Australian Royal commissions inquiries and you have some serious storm clouds ahead.

  When it comes to damage control, the hawks at watchtower headquarters MUST be working very hard behind the scenes.

  Do Jehovah's Witnesses view the governing body differently since seeing them on the TV?

  i think this may be a bigger issue for the society than we realise.. when you consider that witnesses have now had well over a year of regularly seeing their 'channel to god' with their own eyes, what do you think they're thinking?.

  i'm going to put this as respectfully as i can; these men are clearly a bunch of utter clowns who are laughably inadequate to present a tv show, but also, they are now ridiculously discredited due to the absolute shite that they've spoken in these laughable productions.. consider things from a jw's perspective; tony morris, stephen lett & geoffrey jackson are 'the channel' that makes their religion 'special'.

  these men are the channel god is using to lead his people in the modern day.

  I remember attending a zone visit several years ago and Steven Lett was beamed to us from London and rambled on about this and that. One of the things I remembered him for which left me thinking eh! was when he said it brought him joy when our young ones stay faithful. He then relates a story how a young primary school girl stood her ground and refused to attend her friends birthday after being given an invite, and stood up for JEHOVAHHH!. Throw in Letts rubber face and there you have it. I felt like saying ah come on!!!
