i was listening today to the jimmy young show on radio 2. apart from the fact that jimmy young wasn't present, the show followed it's usual pattern of righteous indignation against teenagers, asylum seekers, unmarried young mothers and the unemployed.. todays topic was sex education.. how old should children be before they know about sex?
or should i say, be told all about sex?.
i could't believe what i was hearing.

Well I am in my sixties and still have good sex with a willing wife.
However, I really don't know much about sex! My ex wife will confirm that.
In all my years I have only learned one thing I am sure of.
If a man is getting sex, sex is not a big issue.
If he is not getting sex, SEX IS A VERY BIG ISSUE.
That is all I know about sex that I am sure of.

I was taught that it was the method of grinding grains that caused the excess wear on teeth. The primitive peoples used stones on stones to grind grains and this put a lot of ground up stones in with the wheat. The particles of stones "sand" caused the excess wear.
SO If a better method of grinding grains is used, will that stop the tooth wear??
Francois? I am not sure but I think I could tolerate the "most beautiful-sexy woman" for a very looooong time. Then of course there have to be others. This would keep my interest? up for an eternity I believe.

i have heard a lot of stories of how ex-witnesses are shunned by their witness relatives.
i assume that if it were not for the watchtower rules, most anyone would not be shunned anymore, because our relatives love us.
my question is, are there any who think they are shunned by relatives who don't really like you anyway, and are using the "watchtower rules" to justify it?
Am I shunned by my relatives because they don't like me anyway? NO.
We were pretty close before this wt bs got in the way. I am the youngest and my older siblings and some of their children would come to me for advice.
They also came to me for free assistance in auto problems etc.
Now I am a no good piece of crap in their eyes. Go figure.
last night my wife told me that she would be celebrating the holidays with me and the kids.
she said i'm a good husband and i deserve it.
she also said maybe we should look at other religions together.

Hey I can only imagine the relief and joy this must have brought you. Like others here said, take it slow and easy. Let her see and find on her own,as much as you can, the false teachings of wbts.
I find things are more accepted by others if I ask questions that lead up to my having the opportunity to present some example of the wbts shortcomings and false prophecies etc.

I began to hate the thought of living under the control of the wtbs or the j'dubs. It actually caused me to think that dying at armageddon would be preferable.
All I had to do was think about the elders being in control and how they behaved now. Scared the hell out of me.

the wts always taught making money was bad, and those who already had it, should not show it off for fear of offending those who didn't have any.. there were so many witnesses that barely made ends meet, again, taught that making money was bad, getting an education was bad, therefore making it hard even with full time work to make a decent wage, enough to support a family.. since leaving, have you allowed yourself the freedom to explore what is out there, with education, with making money, allowing yourself to prosper in all areas of your life?.
opportunity is out there, to become better people, to make money, live more freely, without the restrictions that the society put on us.

Hell I worked at it! Starting about 13 yrs before finally being df'd, I went for the good managers jobs and then bought my own franchise.
It made me happy, but it brought nothing but frowns from the j'dubs. There were a few that it didn't bother. But for the most part what I saw and the rumors I heard and the j'dubs conduct towards me just made my desire to get out all that more important.

all this talk about privileges being taken away, such as microphone duty, got me to thinking about how some brothers are viewed who aren't reaching out.. my husband would have fallen in this category.
i got involved with the jws first and looking back i think he just followed along to keep peace in our marriage.
he (gladly) followed me out too.. when we were jws, it wasn't a priority to him to become a ms or elder.
You need to reach out!! I was told. I was asked to be an elder by the oldest coldest dogmatic elder in the KH.
I don't think I am ready or capeable to be an elder, I said.
To not accept his offer of being an elder is a "SIN OF OMISSION" he said.
Well ok you must be right, I said.
They made me an elder and then this same old fart tells me I am not service minded enough. He said.
I am going to have you removed, he said.
The CO tells him you can't do that.
But I can remove myself, I said. I refuse to remain and elder, I said.
Now the ones who wanted me in and the ones that wanted me out were all pissed at me.

i see a number of board members alluding to the elders as antagonists.
this is amoral.
there is an inference that these ones ( elders ) can think for themselves, they cannot.
I was an elder for aprox. 4 yrs. I functioned in that position in two different congregations. In both of them I found about 2 or 3 out of 5 elders were arrogant bullies that wanted to run the whole show. They were beligerant and dogmatic. The ones that were more understanding and thoughtful were pushed a side by the other 2 or 3 who insisted on having their way. They were insulting and would degrade those that did not agree with them during elder meetings. Never did they consider what others brought up in a rational fashion. This attitude carried over into their every day lives. They were never aware of others feelings and would intrude into another families personal business. Such as how their little kids behaved in meetings and other things none of their business. One of them had been literaly told to leave a congregation and never come back by its members after several had left the "troof" due to his actions. But he was still an elder. I refused to continue as an elder because I felt I was a part of something I Could not and would not do any longer.
While I did know some elders that rightly tried to be what an elder should be, I found the ELDER ARRANGEMENT as it functioned to be one of the most detestable parts of the wbts organization.
The BODY of elders was always corrupted by a few arrogant ones and its functions were corrupted in turn. If anyone stays in as an elder after experiencing what I saw they are in my opinion no better than the worst one in the group.
