  What a total load of bull shit. You can not prove that god exists, that some power of god exists I.E. the Holy Ghost or what the F you want to call this fictional garbage. You can not prove the bible is the word of god and if god existed I am sure he could do a damn site better than this POS. You can not prove that anything Jesus did or said is real and happened and you can not prove that any of his so called Miracles are fact because the are not. What you are arguing about is like saying which leprechaun turd in the lucky Charms toilet tank is the least smelly. ITS ALL FICTION. JESUS is the greatest story ever sold. Its fake made up, not real. But people like you gulp it down and believe it because you get a tingle up your leg when you think about it.

  Not to mention they way you give them a left handed slap on the back would by them be looked at as apostate. So you are wanted now by no one. You are all along in your defense of the cult.

  Non Believers, how do you respond ?

  i recently had this in a message from a jw, a lovely person, but mind controlled, he wrote " a life without hope is no life for me".. how should i respond to that ?

  i am an atheist, but want to respond in as kindly a way as possible.. i was thinking along the lies of saying i got no comfort from what i knew to be false hope, but need to say it in a kindly way.. ideas please ?.

  Hope in a fantasy is no hope at all. A life not for me. Hope for things that can live in the light of reality are fine. Hope in a fantasy that is not true is living a lie. Tell him he has to have hope as long as it can live in realville.

  Did Jesus lie about his generation?

  we all know the scripture where jesus says 'this generation will by no means pass away before the end will come'.

  the jw interpret this as the destruction of the jewish state in jerusalem by the romans and the dispersal of the jewish people.

  however, while researching the history of judea, i come across various facts about the region.. so jesus died about 30ce and his disciples were likewise well in their thirties or older, the 'generation' by definition would've lasted until ~50ce (the time during which children are born and raised to have children of their own).

  My first question is can you prove Jesus existed and if so can you prove he did miracles or is the son of god. Its rhetorical because no one can. This is why faith is needed. Faith believing in something without evidence.

  Phone-witnessing conversation

  just got called by a lovely elder(ly) woman trying to get a conversation started about the state of affairs in the world and if it is ever going to get better (this introduction is so old, this came straight from the old 1980's brown book of conversation starters).

  at first i asked whether she was a telemarketer, no, she is a "bible student".

  i hadn't heard that in a while, so i asked her what denomination, she kind of struggled and quietly said i'm one of jehovah's witnesses - the embarrassment was palpable.. so i said, oh, i'm one of jehovah's witnesses too!

  I would argue from the stand point that the bible is nothing but a book of foolishness and not worth believing in. I would say how the cult has never ever been right on anything its taught.

  I can remember when osb went from 4 to 19, can not remember why but it was back in the 90s if I remember correctly. Must have been the housing boom. It came back down but this is just insane. I had a steel 30x20 garage built because of the price of wood. Now steel is running up also.
