  so here i sat eating my father's day brunch and the knock at the door startled me.

  i peaked and it was a man and teenaged boy in suits.

  it was already like ninety degrees outside and they had on suit jackets....jws.

  Chickenshit is right. Hiding behind lawyers. Whatever happened to facing the persecution and turning the other cheek and proudly standing up for Jah's principles??? Oh wait, that is when you are accused of being Christian and suffering for Christ. Suffering for hiding scandalous and hurtful things DESERVES Caesar's sword.

  If they truly were jah's org they would not need a battery of lawyers to protect their hedge funds and lavish lifestyle.

  Since around memorial time the jw's have been to our apartment complex at least four times that I know of. I been here five years now and they came MAYBE twice per year in that time. I wonder why the big surge. The next to last time they came I was cleaning my car and a couple of young guys walked up to me and asked if they could talk to me about the bible. I was busy so i said I was not interested. One of them kinda smart-assishly asked if I didn't have an interest in living forever on paradise earth and I said, "Not if I have to live with a bunch of jehovah's witnesses." LMAO! I totally stole that from a comedian I saw on tv ages ago! They looked at me like I was crazy and left.

  I wonder what will happen next time. Probably got my door flagged! LOL

  So here I sat eating my father's day brunch and the knock at the door startled me. I peaked and it was a man and teenaged boy in suits. It was already like NINETY degrees outside and they had on suit jackets....JWs. So I opened the door and they started in about how they were in the neighborhood discussing bible topics with their neighbors. I was ready for them! LOL They asked if I would agree that the news is full of reports of wars and violence, crimes and awful conditions and I said that it was very true. The older guy went on to say that what the news reports is definitive proof that we are in the end times. I asked why and he went through Matthew Chapter 24 and what Jesus confirmed would be SIGNS to look for.

  I agreed that the news reports were certainly in line with Jesus' words. Then I asked what they thought about the news about the WT losing a lawsuit brought by a woman that had been molested as a child by a jw. They said they had not heard about that. I said, that oh yes, it's been on CNN and in the newspapers. Right here in California. The guy said that it was probably just a rumor going around that got out of hand. I said, no it was a court judgment and a report was made. He said that the media is not always reliable and that the wt would never lose such a case since they are Jah's org. So i went there... I said, so as long as the news reports what Jesus said would be reported you are happy to come to my door but when your org is busted and made to pay for their crimes it's a rumor.

  He said that maybe it was true, maybe not, but that Jah only has imperfect people to work with and that the congregation would have wolves dressed in sheep's clothing. So i said, that I had no idea if he was a wolf or a sheep so he better go. I then told the boy to be careful.

  I hope I may have reached the kid at least.

  Angry/Pouty Father In Law

  several months ago my father in law abused his key priveleges for the final time.

  he barged in after my son and i had left and harassed my darling wife/his daughter and tried to bully her into giving him her pain medication.

  when i heard about the situation after he had left we decided that the locks needed to be changed.

  panhandlegirl... Such a sad thing when things like drugs rob us of life and those we love. Sorry about your ex daughter in law...

  My fil buying drugs off the street can only end badly. A couple of years back he bought a MIRACLE pill that totally killed his head and neck pains. He came over here full of energy to give one to my wife. He said he got it off the street and paid like $100 for a few pills. He bought several to try and planned to buy a lot now that he saw how well and fast it worked. He asked me to try to find the name of the pill by the codes scored into it. I called two pharmacies who had NO code to match it. They recommended I take it to them to check out. I finally did a non prescription search for it and got a big hit. An image and name. EXACT match down to the shape and code.

  I told my fil that I had a bottle of them on my night stand and he asked if I would GIVE the bottle to him. I said, SURE! No PROBLEM! I went to my room and took one of the pills out of the bottle and then put the bottle in my pocket. I showed him the pill and he was ecstatic!! He was beside himself. Then I showed him the bottle. Arthritis Strength TYLENOL!! OMFG!!! I felt like laughing but he had spent so much money on them. He got totally ripped off. And then his face fell and he got all surly and his pain came back immediately. Classic Placebo effect....It is just so damned sad....

  Jamiebowers...I have met with his doctor twice in the past. I told him about him hounding my wife for her meds and that I was afraid that he would OD if she gave him anything at all since he takes a month's supply of dilaudid and over 200 fiorinol with codeines in two weeks time. He thanked me for the info and strongly admonished me to not allow my wife to give him ANYTHING. He said he would handle it. I know for a fact that this doc has been to court at least four times to answer charges made by the pharmacy and the California Dept. of Justice about my fil's case. He justifies the high dosages, but he admits that it's a fine line he walks.

  JeffT...He refuses to go. He is NOT A JUNKY in his mind since the doc prescribes them. He does however conveniently skirt the issue of getting them from the street pushers too. SO SAD!

  Are you up and down all night?

  i am - every hour or so - but last night i slept for 5 hours uninterrupted, and this despite 4 cups of coffee late afternoon.

  still can't account for what was for me tantamount to a full-night's sleep .... .

  do you sleep well most nights?.
