  After A Day In Field Service, Did You Get Euphoric Or A Spiritual High?

  i know this might sound silly but field service did provide a strange type of good feelings after i was done.

  i called this the "halo-effect" because i felt so "righteous, obedient and good" for taking the weirdos or "the friends" in my station wagon.

  vans and station wagon owners in the congregations often get used hard, pile up seven whacks and your off!

  I don't think God does much either way outside a spiritual sense anyway. He doesn't cause all the great things that happen. And He doesn't cause all the bad things.

  not really good at introductions.

  i am an active jw who has my doubts about certain things like the bible as a whole but im slowly but surely wading through them.

  Yeah, I received an email ~ a month ago asking JW's to sign up here. Then I get another telling me not to since I would probably be banned like all the other JWs.

  What was it about Bethel that woke you up?

  one the how many exbethelites thread it was mentioned that some think one either leaves down the path towards apostasy or as a 100% true believer.

  i'm curious what experiences did you face at bethel that woke you up (or started to at least)?.

  I was at bethel for two seperate two week construction deals in 84.....

  the second I was ready to leave the org, I went there to get away from the congragation I was in .. you could miss meetings while you were there no one knew you so .. I did

  Ive said before that, the Bro who was bringing me in constantly reminded me that we were not CULT as a CULT has one leader..

  But while at bethel, the morining text, all the comments were somehow spun into praise Freddie Franz.. he was in his 90's

  I thought geez really..when he's dead who will they worship!

  plus the food sucked

  I different guy who studied with me was there his Name was Bill Christ... he was a refrigeration tech, who had a lot to do with the new 4 color presses...

  does any on here no him..

  I never really woke up till now I just wanted out.. I remember, if this is how the new system .. I'll pass

  you can win almost everytime, if you have insider information!

  that is what the wt all but promises- you can cheat death and live forever in a paradise earth!

  but you need inside information to win that race-- and you can only get it from the governing body - the meat in due season, is the equivalent to the horse race insider tip- it's like a sure bet folks!!.

  does anyone dream they are on the ministry?

  or maybe that should be "nightmare" - not dream.. it happens less and less, but still does now and again after 10 years.

  it's always associated with a great feeling of dread and going from door to door knowing you do not believe what you are saying (i should point out that, while i was in it, i pretty much did believe it).. i guess it shows how big a part of our lives it once was - a bit like you often dream of being in school or of long-departed relatives..

  I used to have nightmares .. of being in the KH and evryone is all a buzz.. and I'm just Busting at the seams cuz no one seems to know I'm DF'd..

  A rush of panic sets in as I'm sure some one will figure it out.... They don't know WTF why are they talking to me? what will happen when they figure it out!!

  It always ways woke me up .. And I would be sick!!
