Minimus, The topic is a hot one to be be sure without any cut and dried answer with cable and internet media entities. The FCC has some say in over-the-air broadcast news insofar as they can't deliberately broadcast falsehoods, at least often enough to get the attention of the authorities. What complicates things is when a program/show on the radio or tv has acquired such a reputation of engaging in obvious "satire", then the FCC declines to censure the broadcaster. Shock radio type political programs fall into that category. Cable and internet has no rules to speak of other than what the providers themselves establish as policy. The belief that a private or corporation media provider ought not be allowed to drawn their own balance of what is harmful is pretty heavy handed and not popular. However the public must be made aware that due to the lack of any government oversight non-over-the-air media outlets especially are prone to bias and must be fact checked.

Should Social Media Silence Conservative Views?
by minimus ini find it very disturbing that media outlets as well as facebook, instagram, google and others decide that a point of view is not acceptable simply because they don’t share an opinion.
perhaps it is at least right now but i think it’s very wrong.
what’s your view?

Year before that I resurrected another obscure one....Can you name it?
Year before that I think I ran another American Austin, but this was a sedan. I think I painted it in the rain outside the day before the parade, lol.

Diogenesister...That was a incredible barn find. I did a 1931 1/2 Ford tin top narrow bed a couple years ago. Got it to the point of driving it in the parade and sold it to the Volo Museum guys in Illinois.
The year before that I found an old kiddie car ride from Coney Island and made a driving parade car, kid sized, so we had to have my nephew drive it with some friends.
And ROAD TO NOWHERE..I think is was the year before that I did a 1937 American Austin roadster. It was based upon the Austin7 but not a bolt crossed over. Again very rare. Tiny, version of a Ford A .

OK, it wasn't really fair. (though name is on the side) It was a German made 1957 Goggomobil T250. I cut 2 feet out of the middle (made it shorter), removed the roof and changed the rear deck. Its teeeny tiny. Like I said 48" wheelbase and about the same wide. They are very rare in US, this one was immersed in a pond for decades so it wasn't a restoration candidate. The motor/tranny was a lump. I put in a simple CVT go-kart setup. Just for the parade.
Doesn't anyone else want to share projects or maybe dream projects?

Meetings
by pontoon inso remember how assembling together is a command and no man or government can stop us, even if it means going 'underground', even if means being arrested, jailed, beat....can't stop us from assembling together----until covid.
now it's "false regligion" fighting for their constitutional right to meet together while the jws seem to be perefectly happy zooming their lives away..

I seriously think they are morphing into a TV/media church. Lett is a natural. KHs and printing are expensive.

I just realized the picture I had meant to load on the end of this old thread never appeared. Kinda neat having a car so rare that your car shows up in a google search.

how do spouse's treat their partners if they leave the cult?
by mickbobcat inso i was fortunate enough to have a wife that listened and saw what i was saying was true and that the cult is bs.
but i wonder how bad it is in a relationship that one goes out of the cult and the other stays in.
i can see that being a real issue for a marriage.

Our entire life was the religion. We had given everything up for it. When I finally faced my doubts and stopped altogether I did not force anything on her. It was crushing and confusing to her. We really didn't know how to navigate the new dynamic and separated. Ironically it was in part due to the hostility others had toward me that shook her enough to examine her own feelings. She had also buried doubts. She came to me asked for why I had left, couple hours later she resolved to never go back. The important thing was she was prepared to make the change.
