  i was on this board a lot when i faded and left 6 years ago but not been on much since.

  is there any thread/s in particular to read showing the changes in the past 5 years?

  or any kind willing person who has time to summarise them as a reply below??

  -Russel is no longer of the F&DS
  -Jesus' 2nd coming now has 2 parts, one in 1914 as King, and one at the (yet future) Great Tribulation as Judge

  -after the 2nd part of his 2nd coming, the remaining 144,000 will be raptured to heaven

  -after the rapture an "unkown period of time" will follow during which the judging of the sheep and the goats will occur and THAT will be followed by the actual armageddon

  -a few years old now, but there is no longer any closing of "the call" meaning anyone can now claim they are anointed and the number of anointed has increased from just over 8000 to over 13,000. But as Jgnat pointed out, being anointed doesn't mean anything special anymore since only the Governing Body have the power as the F&DS

  this just proves that the memorial is a meaningless tradition when it comes to the lowly non-anointed R&F

  i think my favourite portrayal of jesus was lothaire bluteau in " jesus of montreal" .

  thats also my reccomendation for a great movie.. anyway it would be fun to compile a list of actors, that have portrayed jesus and how it effected our perception of jesus..

  ive given this new arrangement a lot of detailed thought and how greatly it benefits the wt and how much it puts a strain on each congregation.. first, let me explain how the old arrangement worked.. you had 3 donation boxes in each kingdom hall.

  one for worldwide work, one for kingdom hall construction and one for congregation contributions.. the congregation contribution box accounted for about 60-75% of all donations.

  the world wide work box probably accounted for 20-30% and the kingdom hall construction for about 5% of the contributions.

  this thread has really identified the benifits to the BOrg of this new donation,

  they already own all the KH's that are paid for since all halls are donated to society, but their is a "lien" on the hall. One business entity of the WTS owes another part of the org money. but that money is tied and with risk (at least in lenders eyes)

  Now, the society continues to own all KH's right from day one, and ALL kingdom halls are fully paid for loan free from day one. THESE ARE IMMEDIATE CAPITAL ASSETS.

  the WTS is now able to leverage building projects and borrow bank & investor money based on the promisary notes of each congregation and there massive real estate holdings. All growth protected from the tax man

  these promisary notes will greatly exceed present building costs, especially since the WTS would never approve builing KH's at a rate greater than the intake of donations.

  This also takes out the potential "business" label being slapped on the BOrg as a money lender.

  Memorial 2014, my observations and the "New Light" for the Anointed ones

  i have attended to the memorial, just for family reasons, but i managed to fish some points from the talk, that are tricky ones.

  ok, most of the time has been consumed to point out who should partake the emblems, the 2 class dogma, and very little about christ, apart from the usual.

  i thought the focus should be on christ and the fact he died for a course.. according to the speaker, the number of the partakers is 13,600 (i don't recall the exact number but it was just about there).

  for many years, my recollection was that jesus "arrived" in 1914, thus your point according to 1 Cor. 11:26 would be valid, that the memorial does not need to occur any longer since Jesus arrived in 1914. However as Blondie pointed out, the WTS plays symantics on this point in the now infamous July 15, 2013 Study edition

  11 In the mid-1990’s, The Watchtower reexamined Matthew 25:31, which states: “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne.” It was noted that Jesus became King of God’s Kingdom in 1914, but he did not “sit down on his glorious throne” as Judge of “all the nations.” (Matt. 25:32; compare Daniel 7:13.) However, the parable of the sheep and the goats describes Jesus primarily as Judge. (Read Matthew 25:31-34,41, 46.) Since Jesus was not yet active as Judge of all nations in 1914, his judgment of people as sheep or goats could not have started in that year. * When, then, will Jesus’ judgment begin?

  19 In review, what have we learned? In the beginning of this article, we raised three “when” questions. We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great. Then, we reviewed why Jesus’ judgment of the sheep and the goats did not begin in 1914 but will occur during the great tribulation. Finally, we examined why Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation.

  so basically Jesus has "two arrivals", one in 1914 when he was apppointed King, and a 2 when he "arrives" as "Judge"

  of course he will judge the sheep and the goats in a yet unknown future time during the great tribulation. At THIS time, the memorial should cease to occur. BUt who knows with the WTS, even they can't remember what they believe anymore

  All new halls will not be "bought" with local congregation loans. Rather they will be built and owned by headquarters. All money donated for the hall is simply a donation, not a payment. Now local congragations have no legal grounds of ownership in the hall

  BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  AND the KH's are fully an assett of the Org. they decide when and what gets renovated, built, etc. This is really criminal. No group that actually questioned their leaders would ever stand for this. But the BOrg knows no one will dare question their motives.... even though EVERY ELDER on the planet will see the underlying financial gain to the BOrg and loss to the local brothers

  Memorial Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT "Witness" to Family and Friends

  anyone who has awakened to ttatt and conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent individual from a prominent multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.

  by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dimissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".

  nothing blasts a louder, clearer, and more deliberate message to the jws who personally knew you and those familiar with your jw bona fides that you are not merely "not making the meetings" or "spiritually-weak" but that there is a conscientious reason you have rejected the entire watchtower society life than choosing to forego what they know you know to be their one-and-only holy and sacred event of the year, the lord's evening meal.
