  Who are doing Jehovah's will today? Brochure

  this brochure is being studied, in the org starting form this week.

  it rams lies down our throats, trying to convince us the the wt is god's organisation.

  it lies to us about how the wt is doing jehovah's will.. we are going to be subjected to lies, lies and more lies for weeks.

  I don't go mid week at all now. I don't go Sundays if the WT is loaded. It just means the times I do go I can just about cope with.

  For the ones who believe in Bible - What does the scriptures here imply on subjection to religious leaders? - Hebrews 13:17-19, 22-25

  do we really need an organization and need to be in subjection to it as god always chose leaders (abhraham, moses, jesus, apostles)?

  what are your thoughts?

  how can you reason this out?.

  SFPW, it is not Unity.. it is Conformity. There's a difference. Look up Groupthink in Wikipedia. George Orwell uses it quite nicely in his novel 1984.

  And when did the 1stC christians have to put in a field service report? They never had to 'report back' to anyone, they were all over the place yet look how they accomplished it!

  Today there are over 1,000,000 christians in China without any kind of 'organisation'. They meet in 'house churches' much the same as 1stC christians did.

  Also, you have taken 1 Cor 14:33 out of context. There is nothing wrong with being organised to accomplish something. Where it becomes wrong is when IT becomes an ORGANISATION that controls people.

  on some threads the "post reply" box is missing the section where you can post links, photos, emotcions, etc.. is this a new thing to save band width or is it a glitch?.

  i miss having the old "post reply" options....:(.

  How to prove God does not exist?

  many times (almost all the time) atheists asking for proof of god's existence from those who believe that god exists.

  perhaps at times they should prove he doesn't exist.

  What are the buzz words or trigger for JWs?

  i read steve hassan's book and he mentioned about buzz words or triggers that call out the cult personality of a victim of mind controlling cult.

  It's illegal to carry a knife or a gun in the UK. You can get up to 5 years in jail if you do and you're caught with one.

  I asked a few months ago to come off... after 45 years of giving talks. It was just accepted with no questions asked and no one has said anything ever since. I'm still considered in good standing. If only they knew LOL

  Faith in God should not be weak because of a wicked organization?!

  i feel it strange that many here is here because of the wt organizations lies, contradictions etc (?!).

  a deep and personal belief in god should not stand or fall because of a wicked organization that manipulate people.

  i have a feeling that other christians in other organizations are more stable in their belief.

  At the moment I've just started reading a book by Philip Yancy called Disappointment with God. Like JWs he was raised in a fundamentalist religion and for a time completely lost his faith in God becoming an atheist for 15 years. I think coming from a controlling religion it's so easy to lose faith in God too. When you start asking questions, they don't stop, one just leads to another. It's as if you have to find your own way all over again from the start.

  How I miss the 'Truth' of my youth....

  my family moved from the city to the country.. part of the reason for the relocation was to move 'to where the need was greater'.

  i loved our new home - i was free to roam the woods and fields, enjoy the wildlife, work in our garden and feed the chickens.

  i had new friends in our new congregation.

  Sounds rather like my childhhod/teenage years. Happy times. Many of my childhood friends are still around, some are more like family than my extended family are. It's what makes it so hard for me to leave... :(
