A mole within the FDS!
by braincleaned init has been now verified that there was a traitor within the gb!.
an insider had the courage and audacity to verify this, taking the risk of being kicked out of bethel, with a cross carved on his forehead.. it became apparent that all the men of the gb where naturally bald, even when some tried to hide it with a clever and stylistic comb-over.
but there was some suspicion that pierce and losch were not true bald men.

How I recently handled JWs at my door
by Christian guy inthe jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.
i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.
so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

Awesome!! Looks like they hung themselves with their own rope! I hope they go away and really think about it. The points you made are the ones that have always given me my doubts. Once my blinkers were off I could really see what the TRUE gospel is.... and it's NOT the one the WT preaches!

The reason behind why the ex-JW community can never match Jehovah's Witnesses' success.
by Stand for Pure Worship inan average of five kingdom halls being constructed daily, almost 8 million brothers and sisters, dissemination of bible literature in 595 languages, 111,795 congregations worldwide, distribution of 179 million bibles available in 116 languages, 239 countries where jehovah's witnesses have a presence, etc.. need i go on?.

SFPW, forget about the numbers. Why is always about numbers. It's people that matter. This time last year a member of this board hanged himself because he couldn't cope with being shunned. It shocked all of us. Tell me, have you ever been 'sent to Coventry' as a child? Have you ever felt as if nobody loves you? Have you ever felt totally isolated? Jesus said you would know his followers by the love they show towards each other. Where's the love in shunning? We were all shocked and stunned when we found out about 'Oopah'. If you want statistics, how about counting the numbers of exJWs who've been ravaged emotionally by the practice of shunning.
Watch this video that Cedars made and then tell me you feel no emotion....

At the end of the day, everyone has to do what is right for them... not anyone else.
I see it in my own situation, I can't leave because leaving would mean losing my family. I talk to my family but although they can see lots of problems and they have lots of doubt, for them it's a safe, comfortable place to be. For my mum, she's elderly and has been in for over 60 years, it would actually be detrimental to destroy her faith.
If someone finds that being away from it is actually making them unhappy, what right has anyone else to say it's wrong for them?

Participating on Assembly Programs and meetings... the hypocritical things that go on
by confusedandalone ini was thinking the other day about how i use to marvel at the idea of being on a ca or do program!

Had one CO few years ago. He was great and really liked our family. Hubby got asked to give talks for several CA's. Next CO was a stickler. Hubby wasn't doing a regular family study, so he was dropped.

So Frightened.. Extremely Afraid
by Caupon inas some of you may know, i'm a pretty troubled lad who was on the verge of getting baptised but stopped when i learned the shocking truth about the organization.
following that my own mother let me have it in anger to my decision.
since then, my life has been true hell.. .

Caupon.. don't worry about the elder's reactions to your entry into their 'inner sanctum'. I know what they're like and as an elder's wife waiting to go home and getting fed up and knocking on the door to get the car key off hubby, I know the reaction. I tease my hubby about it being 'a little boy's club' or if I'm really fed up, 'a secret society'. Truth is I know they hate their 'after meeting meetings'. They've worked a hard day, come home, wolfed down their dinner, got ready for meeting, rushed through traffic to get there on time, maybe had to do an item at the meeting and then get told there's a 'brief' elder's meeting afterwards. I know my husband inwardly groans, as I do... it's never 'brief'! So I guess they're all very grumpy by this stage.
Enter a young man into their inner sanctum without knocking... I know it seems a terrible reaction to you and made you feel scared but don't be. They probably forgot all about it before you'd even closed the door.
I know my own children when they were in their teens had a number of occasions like this. Unfortunately older people sometimes forget what it's like to be young and how sensitive a teen can be. Don't take it to heart. You'll be ok.

Epistemology. I Wonder 2...
by braincleaned inwhat is the value of our knowledge?.
i respect all beliefs for what they are.
but many of us are being treated condescendingly by those who have more certainty than we atheists do.
-

Sorry Braincleaned I haven't read all the posts. Just your OP. I have to say based on that, it seems to me a little generalised. As if ALL believers are this way.
I am constantly asking questions and reading things to try and answer those questions. I am a believer but certainly don't think I have all the answers. Instead my questions just throw up more questions. About everything! I base my belief on the conclusions I've come to and my own life experiences. As everyone has to, believer or non believer.
Also I don't think atheists are looked down on for questioning theists statements. It happens when atheists seem determined to crush a theists beliefs and hence their faith. For what purpose?

A Manual for Creating Atheists by Peter Boghossian
by cofty ina manual for creating atheists offers the first-ever guide not for talking people into faith--but for talking them out of it.
peter boghossian draws on the tools he has developed and used for more than twenty years as a philosopher and educator to teach how to engage the faithful in conversations that will help them value reason and rationality, cast doubt on their religious beliefs, mistrust their faith, abandon superstition and irrationality, and ultimately embrace reason.
- amazon.... "boghossian has provided an indispensible chart book for all of us who must navigate the rising sea of magical thinking that is inundating america today.

Thanks to ones like him it protects many women/babies. I'm rhesus neg. and was seriously worried when I first found out. Fortunately my first babies were also neg. but my last baby was positive and I had the injection. If I'd had another neg. baby it would have been protected because of this vaccination.
Many babies, including JW babies have been saved because of this.
