  Deteriorating content of the WT

  has anyone noticed the recent deterioration in the quality of wt's contents lately?..

  the spiritual food seems to be getting more and more shitty these days.

  i have given a thought to what could really be going wrong, and if it is likely that some on the wiriting committee is consciously dishing out those nonsense to facilitate more poeple seeing ttat.

  I remember when the two articles came out about '607' at the tail end of 2011 when I was just waking up. I thought they looked quite good. They seemed well researched. Then I actually read them... and realised it was all fluff, made to look good. None of it actually held up.

  When I read the conflicting arguments it made me realise how very shallow it all was. Whoever wrote those articles knew nothing about the subject. However JWs reading it will think how great the articles were (if they bothered to read them in the first place). They won't even consider looking at the real information.

  New Pope will be named Peter

  i remember reading somewhere in regards to a a 'prophet' of sorts who had predicted all the popes that have been chosen.. his 'prophecy' stated that the next pope (since benedict has resigned) would be the last before the 'end' would come.

  his name would be pope peter.. let's see what happens.

  we are suppose to know who the next pope will be before easter..

  I saw a 'prophecy' today.... said that Pope John Paul was the '6th King'... that pope Benedict was the '7th king' of Revelation and the '8th king' is going to be pope John Paul resurrected. Only he won't be resurrected really... he will be a fallen angel pretending to be pope John Paul.......

  and this was meant seriously....

  Discussion with family member who is an Elder in our congregation

  so about a week ago, i showed my cousin & her husband [an elder in our congregation] the picture on pg 29 of our 4/15/2013 study wt and asked, "if jesus is head of the congregation then where is he?".

  after several minutes of searching, dead silence.. i then asked if they had heard the part on the 2012 summer district conv the part about "our spiritual mother, where the c.o said that "the bible by itself does not shine thru as life-giving truths just by itself.

  " they were shocked and said that i must have misheard it because that would be apostasy.

  I NEED HELP!

  guys, i have faded about a 1 month ago...now 1 elder, who i consider a friend as a person and like a father is texting me.... i don't hate the guy, i consider him my friend even though i don't believe what he believes...he's telling me he hasnt seen me at the meetings and he's worried...he asked me if i could go in service with him this weekend...i have not responded, i dont know what to say since i don't want to go through no judicial committee or something like that...nobody there knows i know ttabtt...any suggestions on how i should respond?.

  If he's a friend then you should be able to just say you've been feeling very down just recently and don't feel up to going in the FS. Thank him for his concern and tell him you're just trying to work things through.

  im amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!

  and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

  Tell them your having anxiety attacks of the 'social phobia' kind... and are having difficulties at the meetings... can't face people etc... there's not a lot they can say to that... otherwise make all the right noises, thank them for their concern etc.. don't let them pin you in a corner.

  so my wife is aware that i am totally disillusioned and i am having problems with lots of things.

  one day she can see the crap(such as this past watchtower question from readers about ivf... what a pile of insanity.

  if someone carries me and my wifes baby i have committed porneia rofl!!!

  The other day I asked my elder husband 'who appointed the GB to be the FDS?' He didn't answer... I asked 'show me in the bible where it says Jesus appointed the GB to be the FDS'... again no answer... I said 'THEY told us that Jesus had appointed them as the FDS... so how do they know?' Again.. silence....

  I think he's still thinking about it...

  Newbie - I need advice!

  it feels like a huge step like the point of no return.

  i am a born in, still in wanting to get out ms. i have refused eldership, used to pioneer and have sooo many stories.

  Hi awakening, I really sympathise. I'm a wife of an elder and although he is very understanding I feel that to keep my marriage intact I have to compromise. I'm careful not to say too much and if I do say anything to say it at the right time.

  It's very difficult sometimes but as time's gone on (it's been a year now) it's become easier to the point where if I don't want to got to a meeting or field service (which is often) he doesn't raise an eyebrow or ask me why not, he just accepts it. If I bring anything up then it's always something I know he'll agree with me on.

  As time has gone on it's become more and more things. He's beginning to see things now that he never would have before. I know the cognitive dissonance gets stronger in him every time we talk. If I notice him putting up barriers, I back off and stay quiet.

  I think the secret is to take it slowly, don't rush anything. Sometimes stomaching things will be particularly hard but remind yourself how much your wife means to you and that might help to be able to put up with things.

  Still fading. I would never be happy going to another organised religion. I feel the same as Bella too, I enjpy having a personal relationship with Christ (as well as God) that I never had before and I enjoy having my own personal beliefs without having anyone else tell me what I should or should not believe. Freedom!

  this isnt just based on this page, but other pages ive read on this website.

  while youre at it why not just say all black people are criminals, all asians are rapists and all white people molest their children.
