just glanced at one Outline, and I see they are as dire as when I refused to give anymore Public Talks, as I could no longer get on the Platform and spout the org's nonsense. Prior to that, I used to "knock the outline in to shape" as I termed it, many an Elder told me, " I give that Talk,and the way you presented it is very different". No wonder, I would say nothing I could not see plainly in the Bible.
Shortly after, I woke up fully and left for good.

I think I should have qualified my " those at the top", I was referring to their Legal Advisers , and the Writing Department, who work hand in glove. Those guys, along with their Financial Advisers, know full well it is not "The Truth".
As for the Figure Heads, the Governing Body, how much they believe, and how much they know is bullshit, probably varies by member. All came up through the ranks, many life long believers, whatever, they must have a great problem with Cognitive Dissonance within themselves.
I remember well two remarks made to me , one by a London Bethel Boy, who said " The nearer you get to the top of things, the more you realise their is no "Spirituality" there, there is none in Bethel", the other was a guy who worked in the new York H.Q , in Brooklyn, as it was at the time, and he told me, " I pass the Governing Body's Committee Room in my work there, you should hear the shouting and arguments that I hear !"
i suspect that the leaders of eu countries which have large fishing fleets are seriously worried/panicking (for their own jobs!
) that the uk is going to drastically reduce/eliminate those fleets' access to the uk's rich fishing waters.. the eu knows how its rules and regulations pummeled the british fishing fleets, now it fears that it's their turn to experience the same collapse: .

This is proof positive that those at the top in the JW Org know that what they are peddling is not the Truth. And proof that they are aware of the accusation that they use Mind Control, and the truth of that accusation.
If they had the truth, and did not use Mind Control techniques they could challenge this guy face on, instead they simply use underhanded methods, like this spurious Take Down claim.

after all i was a jobo 50 years and thought the wbt$ was 100% correct.. i ask this because i see that, for example, christian denominations (or whatever), likely have differing interpretations of the same writing.
Indeed Cofty, Religion is a part of the Ethnicity/Culture of all peoples on Earth, even in Nations that suppress it. I do believe that Religion should have no place in Politics now, all Governments should be secular, even if some of the members are personally religious. How far we are from that ideal !
But to use ones chosen Holy Book as the basis for Law, or for Government action, especially military, should have no place in the machinery of Government today, sadly, it is pervasive, and yet, as this Thread has shown, such "Holy" books are merely flawed works of men.

one of the respondents on my post on mental illness stated that it was the same of ex jw's.
i thought about this for a couple of days and drawing from my personal experience, i can say that this is mostly true.
if one is disfellowshipped, the act of forcibly cutting off all ties to a jw's way of life is painful and in some cases inducing cognitive dissonance.
Although not DF'd or DA'd my JW family distanced themselves greatly, we were cut off from family events like Weddings etc. And all our former "friends" had nothing to do with us.
When I actually left I had sunk in to deep suicidal depression, I was dangerously close to ending my life. The support and love that Posters gave me on here was so helpful, several of them begged me to get proper Therapy, I did that, and was lucky to find an excellent Therapist who had treated a good number of XJW's .
I learned how to suppress and control my depression, and was shown by Posters on here how to think and research about JW beliefs, and the JW Mind Control, all along with kindly support.
This place saved my life ! So thank you Simon, and all those Posters.
I hope we can still keep this as a place where JW's can come and receive kindly advice, support, love and guidance.

" Brazen Conduct " was brought in so they could get rid of troublemakers who actually had broken no Scriptural rule. It depends how local Elders interpret it, good luck if your Elders are Nazis, or just shits who have taken against you, they can find anything they like and call it " Brazen Conduct".
