One God--Moses 1st?
by patio34 ini've been doing a little research into a pharoah named akhenaten.
been coming up with some variances in dates and would like to know if anyone else has run across this info.. akhenaten (amenhotep iv) reigned 1379-1362 bc.
according to 'the bible timeline' moses was born in 1355 bc, right after akhenaten.

Request for Opinions
by patio34 ini requested that my sons (both jws) come to my home for a family meeting today.
had nothing to do with religion.
both of them know i don't go to meetings and that i have intellectual disagreement with wtbs.. son #2 said that before we begin the meeting, he would like to offer up prayer.

Who Was Cain Afraid of?
by patio34 inwhen god banished cain, why was he in fear of his life when there was only he and his family on the earth?
after all, how many could there have been and is it logical to think they were everywhere else--anywhere else but where cain and his family lived?
so, who was he afraid of that would take his life?.

WTBS Made a Huge Mistake!
by patio34 ini was tempted to write the wtbs today.
i'm reading a loaned copy (from my younger sister, 'waiting') of ray franz's "in search of christian freedom.
" it is a masterful point-by-point refutation of the wts doctrine.

Diets and Evolution
by patio34 insince i've been reading up on that formerly forbidden subject of evolution, it occurs to me that my ideas on diet have been wrong.
too.. here's my idea: all early human societies were of the hunter-gatherer type.
now this probably means they ate a lot of meat.

I don't take the Bible literally . . ?
by patio34 injust a little thought on that subject.
is that like you wouldn't take "snow white and the 7 dwarfs" literal?
comparing the bible to a fairy tale, or myth?
