there've been some really thoughtful responses, such kind and considerate wishes for kristy.

even so, i realize how difficult it may be at times to find the words to convey well wishes for someone who's suffering and striving so hard to overcome extreme circumstances.. .

Evolution and Man's Intelligence

i was thinking this morning that we some where along the evolutionary trail we as a species developed a superior intelligence to other species.

where will it eventually lead,,i mean the evolution of our species could take a sharp right or left turn not to mention a complete u-turn.. will we as a species ever keep progressing in our explots of technology or will we start a reversal?

will we come to a realization of some sort and see all this grasping to learn more and more as a waste of time and start a reversal in that direction of our evolution as far as intelligence goes?

Interesting question!

It seems to me from my limited reading of evolution books that humans haven't evolved at all for eons. This is because it's such a successful species (weed species). Species only evolve if there's a drastic environment change. As it is, humans are so prolific there's no evolution going on. It's the same as dinosaurs--they were so successful they didn't evolve for millions of years. What make them go extinct is an "ELE" extinction level event.

The Stem Cell experiment, good or bad?

it was discussed by the president & kerry, it will be all over the news over the next few days because of the death of a hero, for some reason the stem cell issue scares me and i dont think i could support it, taking some voiceless life to improve another, maybe i am misinformed?

it all seems unethical.

i dont know all the facts, can you enlighten me please?.

Thanks for the good discussion of the issue.

I thought the stem cells would be from frozen embryoes that would either stay frozen forever or be thrown out. That's what Kerry said in the debate that they would be from fertility clinics and wouldn't grow to humans anyway.

If they're going to be thrown out, why not use them? It doesn't seem to be "destroying life."

Kristy, you must be a very brave person to have all these hardships at a young age--at any age!! I hope with all my heart that things improve for you. I am a huge fan of Dr. Wayne Dyer, who has written many books and there's websites and discussion boards devoted to discussing his philosphy. I would recommend his work highly. I read it every morning and really devote time to his great ideas.

Christopher Reeves Dies...

i was just watching some television show and they were advertising a movie directed by christopher reeves about a young girl that was paralyzed, and overcame many obstacles.

i thought that was just awesome that he had directed a movie.

then i got a mail on cnn breaking news that he had died... how very very awful.... <sob>`superman' star christopher reeve dies .

It was very sad. I was still a dub when he was injured and that was tragically sad. He seemed like a wonderfully courageous man.
