so i had my first appointment with a counsellor, of course i explained about being a born in jw, mentally leaving, the penalty of doing so and therefore the mental strain of pretending to be someone i'm not.

her response was that she couldn't help me with that because leaving a cult was a "lifestyle choice".

i tried to say to her that its a cult not a religion and how it brain washed me but no.

i have had a conversation this evening with a jw friend i have known since childhood.

he is of the opinion that armageddon will have come and gone within the next 5 years.

are the jws now pinpointing 2020 as the supposed year?

The JWs who don't believe JW doctrine

to me it seems that there are a growing number of jws who reject a few to most doctrines of jws and yet still believe that they are in "jehovah's organisation.

" i have come across quite a few who for example, reject the 1914 doctrine entirely and yet remain psuedo-jws.. take a look at this page: http://e-jw.org/index.php?threads/the-ultimate-generational-leap-rebuttal.2521/#post-21793.

those are jws who reject 1914 and even the gb.

Most don`t care about doctrine,which could change tomorrow and often does..

JW`s parrot what ever the WBT$ wants..

I`ve often heard JW`s say:

"Even if it wasn`t the Truth,I`d still be a JW!"

Nothing but Loyalty to the WBT$,matters in WatchTower World..

It`s simple,no thinking involved..

Marking Talks are back!?!?! - New Name!

when i was younger i used to hear about "marking talks" given in the past.

i believe they stopped in the 80's or 90's.

basically, if someone wasn't baptized or doing something unrepentant, they would get a "marking talk" and be treated the same as a df person.

Why I admire the more risky O.P starters.

starting an o.p is a challenge.the person who starts the o.p then relies on fellow posters to obtain feedback and hopefully keep the o.p, informative and positive.

so starting an o.p becomes " shared accountabilility" between o.p starter, and thread poster.. some o.p's will be more of a risk factor than others, because some topics are more controversial.

so when i start an o.p i now ask myself what is:-.

Once you start one you never know where it will go.

Some die after a few posts..

Some are pleasant conversations..

Some start smoking,drinking,doing drugs and party..

They`re all over the place,all you can do is watch..

2017 Yearbook released

overall the numbers are better than last year (1.8% growth compared to 1.5% last year -- as i predicted ;-) ) with an increase in all major figures including 1300 more congregations (i assume this is not physical kingdom halls?).

7,499 hrs to get 1 Baptizim..

We know at least half of those are JW Kids..

So..

It`s really 14,998 hrs or more.....To get 1 converted JW..

someone just told my wife, that those who are just leaving organization or not going anymore will be dfed, has anyone read that or heard of that?

i have seen nothing of that, and according to jackson at royal commission, we are free to go as we please...

If a minor voluntarily chooses to engage in JW activities, that's one thing, but if a minor is compelled to do so, then the door to door ministry becomes child labor. JW's have been accused of violations on this front more than once and the standard defense is that JW activities are wholly voluntary for all......TD

As a JW Kid I was led to believe JW activities were voluntary..

I found out other wise when I refused to go out in the field service..

When you`re a JW Kid,you volunteer free labour for the WBT$..

OR..

Face the Consequences from your JW Parents..
