by Skepsis inhi all.. it's being a while that i don't share in the forum.
after moving to another country and finding a job, i asked my congregation in my country to send my publishing card here.

So is there any truth to more Northeast Ohio congregations being merged or dissolved?
by My Name is of No Consequence ini know of some congregations and even circuits that have already met this fate recently.
are there any more to come for certain?.

That was (of course) about 25% back then - I strongly suspect the ratio is much higher now.
According to the Pew Poll, it looks like it is now nearly a third.

When I was a JW, I was always filled with anticipation at hearing a Governing Body member give a talk. And each and every time this happened, I was either underwhelmed or felt outright discouraged.
I've seen Henschel at a district assembly. I've seen Herd (as a district overseer and after his appointment to the Governing Body, at a circuit assembly). I've seen Splane at a circuit assembly. And lastly Pierce about three years before his death (he gave the Memorial talk).Nowadays, the Governing Body are front and center, whereas before, it was a rare and "privileged" thing. They could maintain their mystery and awe over their anointed status. Also, before, they were not the entire "Faithful Slave", but rather the thousands of "anointed" were mystically connected into this "class".

In the US, it's only been Spanish congregations that kept the numbers afloat.

"Are you humble enough to admit you were wrong?"
by stuckinarut2 inthat is a question i want to calmly and politely ask a witness next time i interact with them.
perhaps at a cart.. "the bible says we should be humble.
may i ask, are you humble enough to admit you were wrong on things you believe?

Those are good questions to people who are ready to wake up.
But under Watchtower indoctrination humility is entirely redefined.
Humility = agreeing with Watchtower
Pride = disagreeing with Watchtower

Good work, Tony!
I'm starting to think Tony and Stephen Lett have made more impact than any ex-JW activist out there.

I'm sure it will continue for a few years yet until they reach a new normal. They want to fill all Kingdom Halls to full capacity and sell the rest.
Eventually things will decline to the point where they will have to do it all over again...and in the far future, Kingdom Halls will be a very rare thing.

It is not confined to Ohio...it is happening all over the US and UK.
Congregations are being re-orged and merged. Excess Kingdom Halls are being sold off. Logically it follows that circuits also are being adjusted.
This began in my area around 2012, so it isn't anything recent, but after the RBC got replaced by the LDC, this seemed to begin in earnest.

Mormon Apostate discovers he must now refute his former apologist stance
by TerryWalstrom inhere is an otherwise honest and intelligent fellow (former mormon) who 'woke up' and realized all his previous efforts at providing apologist material needs to be refuted--by himself!the parallel to jw thinking and our old life vs new life approach to debunking former sincerely held beliefs finds quite an amusing mirror, imho.check it out.
i think you'll see your time repaid handsomely.http://mormondiscussions.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45012.

Fascinating and educational.
This could be shared with a JW and it be considered "safe". It could be then directed to help examine their own thinking.
