Sadly, I do remember what I had for lunch last Wednesday: a cheesesteak without the bun or cheese sauce. :)
But point taken.
today i walked up to a group of cart witnesses and picked up a watchtower.
i opened the watchtower up to the first page , and asked one of the witnesses if he had read it.. lie # 1... he said he read it.. i ask my second question to a woman witness sitting next to him , who by the way was hard to tear away from her cell phone..... "whats this watchtower about?
, "........ lie # 2 ... she said she read it , but forgot "exactly" what the main points were about..

there is a rumor going around that watchtower is on lockdown right now and the news media parked outside, circling like vultures every since the abc nightline report, is there anyone that can verify it true or not?.
https://youtu.be/ilbvzop6uua.
when i was young we were taught to refer to other adult jws as aunt or uncle.. was this also the case in other countries and does it still happen?.
was it just a custom or has the literature ever commented on it?.
thanks.
I've never heard of this practice...
Of course, I'm in the US.

if you are a non-believing relative or spouse who is hostile to their doctrine are you an apostate?
if you studied with them and rang the logical fallacy buzzer for chits and giggles to see how they would react does this make you an apostate?.
if you are a born in who never got baptised does this make you an apostate?.
1sa 28:3-25 (nwt - not revised version).
7 finally saul said to his servants: seek for me a woman who is a mistress of spirit mediumship, and i will go to her and consult her.
then his servants said to him: look!
About Psalm 37:29, the word in Hebrew is olam, which means basically 'time indefinite'. And really, instead of "Earth" as in the planet, the Psalmist likely had in mind "land".
It is not really prooftext for individuals living eternally in a paradise earth, but that righteous Jews as a class would live in the Promised Land for time indefinite.
what percentage of disfellowshipped young ones wind up in gangs?
you have the opportunity to sit and discuss what's on your mind.. what would you tell them??.
my question, do you men have a heart, how do you sleep at nights??.
why do you think jehovah pick you to feed the sheep??.
so, first off, after my learning ttatt i've been feeling so much better!
my depression is gone, i'm so much more motivated, i can do everything i've always wanted to do but was forbidden from doing.
now, my best friend is still in, however, i feel that he may have a chance at waking up.
i'm just curious about something & wonder if the experts could help.. basically i am documenting all of the main lines of evidence for the jws being the one & then investigating each claim systematically.. i have now reached the dreaded november 1st, 2011 watchtower & am sitting in front of a copy of cartes du ciel and a babylonian calendar converter i found at http://www.staff.science.uu.nl/~gent0113/babylon/babycal_converter.htm.
i realise these claims have been challenged and documented in depth elsewhere, but i'm keen to do my own research rather than copy & paste.
my question is regarding date conversion - when inputting the gregorian dates as given at the bottom of the tablet's translation i found at http://www.caeno.org/pdf/f019_translation.pdf then the lunar positions all seemed pretty close (visually, i wasn't dealing with exact degrees here).
I don’t post as much since I’m still getting used to the new forum layout—besides I’ve no more need to keep this archaic research in my head anymore. I can put my mind toward more fruitful things. If Ann happens to see this, I’m sure she can give a good dissertation to many of the points previously mentioned in this thread.
I’ve noticed the strategy of the Watchtower, as well as apologists, is to muddy the waters and create doubt. However, merely muddying the waters does not ‘prove’ 607 BC. And when one tests many of their claims, they evaporate under closer inspection. No amount of evidence will sway someone whose heart is desperately clinging to a pet theology. The best that can be done is to present the evidence to those who have ears to hear it.
VAT 4956 records an observation for the summer equinox, which any astronomy software can help calculate. To find out with Year 37 began, simply count back from the summer equinox. It’s that simple. This rules out the explanation in the November 2011 Watchtower article that the year began in May.
It is not just VAT 4956. It is not just the many other astronomical tablets. It is not just the thousands of economic tablets. It is not just the Egibi banking records. It is not just the Addagoppe Stele. It is not just the Hillah Stele. It is not just the Bible itself. And any other piece of evidence that I’m leaving out. It is ALL these combined. They all align…all the puzzle pieces fit harmoniously to confirm the Neo-Babylonian chronology.
