by stephanie61092 inso even though i don't drive much because public transit is so good where i live (and parking is a living nightmare), i always had a paper taped onto my glove box that said "no blood transfusions - jehovahs witness.

going through this "wake up" process as been a very crazy, emotional experience.

Something similar happened to a friend of the family. He, his wife, and another lady were in rural territory, driving house to house, backed out into the road, and got hit. The man got badly hurt. His wife died. -

Do you have a Watchtower fantasy?
by pleaseresearch inpicture yourself, it's the last day of a three day district assembly.
your sitting in a near full to capacity football stadium.
people are eagerly looking forward to the final talk.

The moment at a convention the outline is veered from, I suspect they'd cut the mike. -

He never disassociated.
They disfellowshipped him for eating with his disassociated employer/landlord, something that was not a "disfellowshipping offense" just a year before.

Why do EX-JW's try to argue the bible/doctrine with JW's?
by thedepressedsoul ini've watched a few judicial committee videos on youtube.
they all start out great but eventually the person starts to bring out bible teachings and doctrine.
i understand that 99% of their teachings are complete crap, but to me it's a pointless battle.. as a jw growing up i remember being on countless calls where a jw would argue the trinity with the householder.

There is not a one-size-fits-all approach. And if people do not want to research on their own, they are not going to wake up.
I assumed even when I was DFed that even if the Bible was not divinely inspired, JWs had the closest interpretation of it. I was shocked to learn how many things were not really "Bible-based" and fell apart on examination or was just inconsistent. For instance, take "door to door", the Great Crowd/Other Sheep, ect... I thought 587/586 BC was fuzzy historically, some sort of guess by archaeologists, and that 607 BC was the date the Bible pointed too.
It's all part of fact-checking. But unless a person wants to confirm these things on their own, it will all go right past them.

"New light"?
by winstonchurchill inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-june-2016/man-with-inkhorn/.
so i guess baptism is no longer the "mark for survival".. as a matter of fact, that key aspect of the 'old light' is not even acknowledged in this article.. they are just publishing new understanding without even bothering to explain the full extent of the change, hoping nobody will remember how it was... and they may be right about that..

It looks like the Ezekiel/Jeremiah/Isaiah "class" is now referring to the Governing Body alone.
"During the time leading up to the destruction of Jerusalem, Ezekiel served as a watchman along with Jeremiah, just as Isaiah had previously done. Today, Jehovah is using a small group of his anointed servants to feed his people and warn others before the outbreak of the great tribulation. In turn, all of Christ’s domestics have a share in sounding the warning."
