I've heard about this.
And I heard there were breaks between meetings as well.
i would get home from work, eat dinner, shower and put on jeans,a shirt and gym shoes to the book study.
then, one day a letter was read where men would need to wear a suit and tie and the woman would have to wear dresses.
it was stated in a letter that the change was due to, '' giving a better witness to anyone who would watch us walking into our local congregation or a neighbor's house.''.

last year saw the elimination of the district overseer...and circuit overseers now must retire at 70. how long until the circuit overseer is no more?
of course, the role might still exist, they would simply not get paid.
they would have to care for their own expenses.
pioneer hour change is legit.
letters are being mailed out soon to all congregations for announcement in early october right before the tract campaign starts.. .

Old intel that never bore fruition, but who knows what the future will bring?

Of course, the role might still exist, they would simply not get paid. They would have to care for their own expenses. And they might be local to the circuit…a kind of super-COBE. I know there was a rumor to this effect a number of years ago, but it never transpired.
it seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.
most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.
there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.
i have been pondering about this for a while.
i wrote to cedars at some point an offered to help translate his articles into spanish but the answer was that they had all of their efforts committed.
i wrote to paul grundy and never got an answer.

Whatever became of this discussion? I wish I knew the language to help out.
i'm not jw, so i see this all standing up and very clear from an outsider perspective (i am still seeking my path).
i joined the blog a few weeks ago.
i dated a divorced jw (jw from birth) for a couple of years recently.
All this has been suggested and tried before. And here we are. There is no silver bullet solution...the situation is very complex.
However, I think the hundreds of websites, blogs, and videos has helped tremendously. Growth has stagnated since the Internet became widely used. People google before getting involved further.
The organization seems to be collapsing under its own weight and experiencing financial disaster. Before people vote with their feet, they vote with their wallet. And the leadership is inept and are there own worst enemy. It is all a matter of time. It might not happen as fast as we would like it. But it is slowly crumbling.
japan had a massive increase in publishers from 1950-1998. then in 1998 something happened and jehovah's blessing switched off!!!.
1998 -222,912 publishers 3,802 congregations.
2006 -217,519 publishers 3,164 congregations.
One day the US will show the same decline...
Actually, it likely would show it, but for the growth in Spanish-speaking congregations.
