  in a new editorial, "the chronicle" is calling for government action on the jehovah's witness blood policy.

  this thread has caught the attention of jw apologists.

  i was trying to think of one teaching or doctrine that has remained consistent from the society's inception to now, and couldn't.

  Perhaps this qualifier should be also are doctrines that other denominations do not also teach…
  The Seventh Day Adventist still teach soul sleep and no burning hell. Most denominations believe God’s name is Jehovah (or Yahweh) and have the name in their songbooks--It’s no secret.

  so something i never knew was the fact jw's were taught that jesus is only the mediator for the anointed class and not for everyone.

  i only found this out after reading "crisis of conscience" and i was actually pretty shocked to learn so.

  if that is the case, when they pray why even bother saying the words "in the name of jesus christ we ask"?

  i was appointed as an elder when i turned 30, 25 years ago.

  which was the norm back then.. now, i very rarely here of a young man becoming an elder.

  in our town we have 2 english congregations.

  The difference was there was no Governing Body…but say there was, they did not proclaim this teaching as spiritual food. If you did not believe this, you would not get shunned.

  The Watchtower likes to portray failed predictions and teaching as the fault of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but nobody blames the “channel”, the Watchtower, or the Governing Body or Watchtower president of the time. It is a top down organization…they take the credit up top, and put the blame on the bottom.
