  BTTT / Marked topics

  i've noticed a lot of topics being bumped recently with "bttt" (back to the top) comments or "marked" as the reply.. i'd appreciate if people think twice before doing this.

  simply forcing topics back to the top even though there is nothing to say on them is not helpful and negates the usefulness of having an active topics view.

  if everyone did this with every topic they want to push then things would quickly deteriorate so i don't believe some should be allowed to do it for whatever reason.. by all means post new and relevent comments to a topic but short esp single-word non-comments that are simply used to push certain topics back to the top are likely to be interpreted as spam and removed or blocked if necessary.. .

  There might need to be something more verbose in the guidelines about this.

  At first, I was confused when I encountered the term 'marked' on a thread I started...I thought I was being marked, JW style. And it took some time to understand what BTTT meant. Of course, after a few months, I understood both to be part of the this forum's culture.

  Until the liking and watching functions are available, it will be difficult to return to certain topics that one might not have time to comment on immediately, or might not have anything substantial to say. This forum moves so swiftly that I’ve never been able to keep up. Often, if I didn’t ‘mark’ a topic, I often had difficulty finding it, and sometimes lost it altogether.

  Bad month for the Borg this October!

  the month started of quietly then all of a sudden news his the uk about a former jw elder who molested and raped woman and girls.

  then just after as the dust started to settle news out of dallas texas where a complaint was filed alleging elders and a circuit overseer molested and abused six or more victim's.

  before this news even had a chance to resinate threw the ears of those hearing it another complaint was filed in the state of connecticut of four more alleged victims.

  have you investigated gnostic christianity?.

  the gnostic wing of christianity, if it can even be called that today, has quite a few differences to christianity and catholicism.

  if the old gnostic christians were here, they would hardly recognize what has happened to the original orthodox catholic church or its various offshoots in protestantism and islam.

  I thought it was an interesting read. Of course, in many mainline Christian churches, there can be found gender equality and universalism, as well as a broad, non-fundamentalist understanding of Scripture.

  from the moment i saw the preview, i became a little emotional.

  maybe because the main character is thinking of the future of his child?

  it does remind me of my struggles as a fading parent.

  I like practically anything Christopher Nolan does. The Prestige was one of his best movies. I’ve heard some mixed reviewed about this one, but I think I will give it a watch.
