I wonder if anyone's got the film rights to this story yet? Bet they'll have to pay an arm and a leg to get'em!

WHERE DID ALL THAT WATER GO?
by MYOHNSEPH inas i recall, "the society" at one time taught the flood waters of noah's day came from an immense canopy of water, which formed sometime during creation and hovered above the earth until it all broke loose in the flood.
o.k., cool.
but does anyone know of an explanation of where it all went afterwards?

WHAT DID YOU MISS OUT ON WHEN IN THE BORG
by nightwarrior inwe as a family allways wanted a family pet as in (dog ) but as the ministry loomed every weekend ,as well as the meetings we decided that it would be to much trouble ,subconciously the influence came from other members in the congregation ,which in turn came from the elders in turn from the bethel ,allways sprouting on about the ministry first ,you never had time for anything elsemow ,yes a dog would be to much trouble, but now,for the past two /half years my younger children are enjoying the companionship of an animal in the house,as well as 2 cats which we have had for past eight years,.
did you find time for animals.. what did you miss out on ,allso for past 14 years we have had different caravans and motor homes ,.
what did you miss out on when in the borg ,and how did it affect you.

A lot! But most outstandingly, a possible career in recording and entertainment. In 1958, before I turned sixteen years old, I was offered a recording contract and management deal with Decca Records. I even recorded one single for Decca and had started doing shows with some of the major country and rock artists of the time. It didn't take long for "the brothers" to pounce on me and convince me that all that "worldly association" had me headed down the road destruction at Armageddon, which of course was right around the corner! As much as I loved performing, I was also very devoted to "the truth" and really wanted to do what was right. I listened to their advice and backed away. Had I continued, who knows what might have happened? I certainly may have fallen flat on my face! But in retrospect, it would be nice to be able to say, at least I gave it a shot.
Hind-sight and experience! They're such great teachers, but you never have either until right after you need them!

Damn! Just when I was thinking of expanding my culinary prowess into European cuisine! Guess I'll just stick with gumbo for the Super Bowl!

O.K., cool. But does anyone know of an explanation of where it all went afterwards? For water to cover the highest peaks, allowing for the possibility those peaks weren't quite a high as they are today and even allowing for some water displacement by those peaks, a little quick math will reveal it would have taken at least a few hundred million cubic miles of water to cover them. Does anyone know if a plausible explanation has ever been given for what happened to all that water? (Plausible, meaning something beyond "Jehovah can do anything!")

Ravyn: Looks like you figured it out. Better check with Animal, just to be sure though!
Trotafox: Right on! I usually just say it's an old Mississippi expression that means, "me"!

I tried to figure out a way to do this anonymously, because I really hate looking stupid. Well, this stupid anyway! But you see, I'm not really much of an internet person. This is the only forum I've ever posted on and I've never really learned all the lingo and, and, and, well, a lot of other really good reasons I can't think of right now. Oh yeah, I'm old too! Well anyhow, this is driving me nuts, so here goes:
1. What the hell does LOL mean? Lots of Luck? Lots of Love? Lobster and Linguine? Lloyds of London? Lecherous Old Lunatic? Am I gettin' close? I recognized DILLIGAF as soon as I saw it, but this has got me stumped!
2. How do you put a quote from another post in one of those neat little yellow boxes?
Remember now, I'm old. So be kind!
