  So for JW kids they can't have toys period. because by your reasoning. dolls are pagan, so stuffed animals are wrong too, because animals can't talk or laugh and cartoons that have animated characters then are wrong too, because it reveres the animal and not the creator, are you with me. Good. This is so damn stupid you guys are grabbing at straws to make your ridiculous conclusions. Buildings would be wrong to live in because if you live on the 60 th floor lets say then your as bad as those who build the tower of Babel because your reaching to high into the heavens. And cars cans become idols too, ever see some guys the way the worship their baby cars they pamper them talk to them come on.

  Gee lets see music is wrong is idolizes the singer so shut the radio off throw out all those CDs and DVD's turn off the TV too your idolizing all those movie stars and starlets. You admire a beautiful women that is idolatry. You watch the way she sways her hips and body and the way she throws her hair back as to tease every man walking down the street. Maybe the Amish are on to something.. eh?

  Lets get real here from crying out loud, if you want something bad enough it can become a form of idolatry. Money and greed, hedonistic living, materialism all these are self idolizing. Building up muscles that look like they are going to explode and so women will go gah gah over them and girls do and be honest we all love a good looking guy and vice versa aren't we in point of fact idolizing that person ? Yes you are. You can' t look at it any other way . This world is so full of ids and egos its pathetic. Well not that I have that off my chest I will go now and worship my Christmas Tree.

  Anybody remember the BS transplant horror stories?

  back in my day, although the ban on organ transplants had just been lifted due to the light getting brighter (gags), i remember the outrageous stories regarding transplants.

  one that i will never forget went as follows.

  this sister, known for talking a lot, described how this white brother in "another congregation", ignored the society's advice on the matter and went ahead and had a heart transplant.

  do any of you recall that Russell expressed in one of his books that black people were inferior and that their heads were shaped differently then other humans, so they where not smart and they weren't used by the organization for a long time in any capacity what so ever. I am not sure if that was ever recanted or not. But it goes to show he was prejudiced and narrow minded. Orangefatcat

  Okay Reniaa, I am never in the habit of being rude but you my dear don't read very well do you? You are so quick to jump to conclusions that you miss the entire point of what the scriptures are saying.

  I mentioned to you in that huge post that is still running and for what reason I have no idea, but any way I said, do you have a picture of someone you carry in your wallet, like you mom dad or grandma or someone special or maybe you have a picture in your possession of one who has lost their life. Now then do you worship those photo's of your loved ones and do you idolize them by carrying them around with or in your home in a beautiful frame? No you don't. They are just a memory of times you have had with your loved ones.

  Well Jesus Christ is my loved on. He is my saviour my redeemer, In fact Jesus loves me, I honour my Lord by wearing a cruxfix so that I will never ever lose the memories of his moments on earth 2000 years ago. I know he suffered a horrible death for me and every human on the planet earth. If an individual wishes to show our Lord how much he means to us what greater honour can we show him then by wearing a memory around my neck or any other persons neck. You know there are necklaces that are made of hearts and oval shape that open up and you put pictures of your mom and dad or grandparents or you and your husband or kids do you see what I am getting at. It is no difference what so ever.

  One person mentioned the cross is pagan yes it is a lot of things are pagan if you look at them that way. Your talking thousands of years ago. Look at wedding rings they are pagan origin also. Just because something was viewed as pagan eons ago doesn't make it so in the 21st. century. We have become more civilized. We don't look at things as pagan or heathen any more. It doesn't change the fact that Christ Jesus died on a cross now does it?

  so to reiterate my convictions yes I do wear a cruxifix and I am honoured to wear it as a constant reminder of my depth of love for Jesus and my respect for the gift He has made possible for mankind. As our Saviour and by His Grace we will attain to eternal life. I don't worship the cruxifix.

  Did any of you guys have night terrors?

  my daughter and i were talking the other night, about things that go bump under your bed when you are a kid.. thinking back i can remember this happening to me alot!

  but neither of my kids ever had one.

  i wonder if it is because of their lack of visits to the kingdom hall?

  Yes you need to give a love smack. Wow it must have been terrible. My middle sister use the have convulsions from grande mal seizures, when she was born for some crazy reason the doctor wasn't ready and the baby was and they pushed her back in and then she wouldn 't come out and they used forceps and apparently injured her neck and it caused the epilepsy. She would see monsters and creatures under her bed or on her. It was like that from the moment of birth. Any way as she got a little older and we by this time JWs my mother was having trouble with her spine and my dad too. So they heard of a brother in Toronto who a chiropractor, named Bill Ariko I think that is the spelling of his last name. Anyway my mom tells him about my sister and he asks if he could see her and maybe relieve some tension in here neck. Well they said, sure why not, it can't do any harm. so they brought her to see Bill and after his feeling her spine and neck he knew she had been born with forceps he said I can tell and I can help her some what she really has a bad neck so with weeks of manipulations she started having less and less seizures until the day came and she had no more seizures at all.

  Somedays she was terrifed to close her eyes for fear of seeing these monsters and creatures and she'd scream and scream. It was pretty bad. It goes to show you how dangerous it is for doctors to use forceps.

  yes I had night terrors or nightmares whatever they are called. my mother was very mean she was very much involved with demonizm, as a kid she use to tell me at bed time that the black gloves would visit me in the night and take off my blankets. It terrified me. I would wake up abruptly go to the bathroom turn on the light and then sit on the toilet literally my teeth and body where trembling. My teeth literally were clanging together I had such fear I can barely describe it. My stomach was doing strange leaps inside. it was terrible that a mother would make a kid terrified. I dreamt the same nightmare all the time for many long years even into as an adult until the day my doctor suggested to me to stay with the nightmare and see who the phantom is in my dream. I was truly scared to do this I was afraid of who it may be behind the dark cloak in that dark enclosed cave so deep there was no escape. So I said to my doctor I would try but couldn't promise. I was in my late fourties and one night it I started out having the dream and some how some I convinced my mind not to wake up while I was dreaming it was Iike I could here the doctor saying to me Terry stay with the dream and then I got to the part where I always awoke and I could feel an internal struggle inside me happening yet I didn't wake up I finished the dream and the person behind the cloak was my father. After I realized it was my father I never again had that nightmare. But I still have nightmares because the other night I awoke in the middle of the night screaming no no and tears in my eyes. I can't remember what it was even about. Just as well. Funny thing my mother terrified me. My dad I didn't respect because he was a mean cruel abusive alcoholic. My mom abused perscription drugs uppers and downers and she was a beatnik ;she was clairvoyant, ESP, and believed in occultism. My childhood was something else. I thank God I had one constant in my life and that was my wonderful grandma. She was a saint. She taught me to be the person I am today. That is why most people can't believe that I belong to the family I belong to. I am so different from all three of my other sisters. I know I am and they know it too. Darn it there I go again going on and on like a steam engine. Orangefatcat.

  SICK JWS

  were the majority of witnesses in your hall somehow sick?

  either physically, emotionally or mentally?.

  most jws i knew had some unexplainable ailment or 2. and a number suffered from depression!!

  I dare say a huge number are hypochondriacs for example when certain awake articles deal with subjects such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Epstein Barr, or Fibromyalgia, COD, and mental and emotional distresses and that is just to name a few. Do you recall in your mind how many witnesses mostly sisters were convinced they had these conditions. I recall for every article that came out with some ailment my mother had it. Yep she convinced herself she had. She would go to the doctor tell him she read it in the Awake magazine and she felt he should test her to see if she had it. The doctor has humoured my mom for years because he can't do anything for my mom. My mom is her own worst enemy. It is really really sad that is all she talks about and I suppose some witnesses get fed up with listening to her. I know my Aunt who is not a JW is fed up with her and her constant complaining of her aliments. Once upon a time the wts said that taking medication was an approach to the demons.

  For years my mother condemned me for being on anti depressants. She said I was making room for Satan. I would just listen to go on and on and just really ignore her. Just prior to my dads death by a few years my mother was a basket case and she really needed to be on medication badly especially for her Compulsive Obsessive disorder, she had it bad. it drove me insane watching her all the time, and I know it made my dad crazy too, well the doctor told her he was putting her on anti depressants and something for the COD. She said no. Around the same time an article came out on depression and it mentioned that at times witnesses had to be on medications for depression. Well my goodness you would have thought the end was nigh she was ecstatic now she had Gods blessing through the GB to now take medication. I was livid of course and I wanted to just go over and literally smack my mom for all those terrible things she said to me.

  It wouldn't have done a damn bit of good though because she would have said oh well . Their narrow mindedness just throws me at times. After my mom started ,then two of my other sisters also started on anti depressants as well as heart pills see what happens when you do to under stress or duress. My mom is also on heart medication.

  I dare say a huge precentage of JW's are on some kind of meds and in some sort of theraphy and I dare say half of them wish they could leave the organization without reprecutions. IMHO And also I believe streneously that if these individuals left the organization most of them would be able to discontinue their anti depressents all except for those who have chemical imbalances or bipolar, or schziphrenia.

  What gets to me is this, JW's think they have exclusive rights to the blood of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. Don't they read the Bible properly. Jesus died for all of us. No one has sole rights to him or his shed blood. The Bible tells he died for the world of mankind. that who so ever believeth in him may have everlasting life. It doesn't say anywhere JW's only.

  That price tag for a seat in the KH is just one of their ploys to make you all feel quilty. Witnesses expect that unless your on your dying bed you should be at the KH in the service and not say anything about being ill. Otherwise you are left behind and they will never visit you or call you. They forget you exist Oh but wait the C.O. is visiting in two wks we better make some shepherding calls. Yep your seat at the Kingdom hall has a price tag on it.
