La Capra:
That took place in my old stomping grounds. Small world.
i saw this story on a national news broadcast and said to myself, "hey, that's the same ian rogers that was in my congregation.".
i tracked down a local article to confirm it was the same person, even though i recognized him immediately and he looks just like his dad did 35 years ago (except for the hair color).. https://napavalleyregister.com/news/local/mother-of-napa-garage-owner-ian-rogers-describes-gun-collecting-right-wing-views-in-years/article_9c823a90-6cd2-5c54-9f76-26203b17fe31.html.
things the congregation leadership did to his mom during those mid-80s years were elemental to my disassociation in 1987--i wrote them down on paper as i was sorting out my decision..

3 the day came when cain brought a gift of the fruit of the ground to the lord.
4 but abel brought a gift of the first-born of his flocks and of the fat parts.
the lord showed favor to abel and his gift.
Modern day religious leaders of the Jewish faith will tell you that much of the Old Testament is just made up stories that teach a lesson. The Catholic Church even accepts that much of the Bible is allegorical in nature and not historical fact. It is because of Martin Luther and his Reformation that we get the ideology that everything in the Bible is to be taken literal.
Because of Luther's Sola Scriptura teaching we have 40,000+ denominations of Christianity that try to make true history fit Bible history.
i can remember when i joined the chess class in middle school.
my mother brought out an older watchtower article about how chess is a game of war.
since i left the cult in 95 i have slowly lost any connection to the cult.
The Watchtower's stance on the game of chess is a great example of flip-flopping. The Watchtower has been anti and pro chess in its printed literature.
wow, just watched a video from the 'world economic forum' , a respectable organization by the way, not the usual conspiracy lunatic theorist.
it says that by 2030 meat is gonna be a treat not widely available like today, that the us is not gonna be a global superpower anymore, instead a handful of countries will dominate and that people is not gonna own nothing but will be happy.. well, that would help the borg to keep the craziness going on.. thoughts?
what's this great reset?.
The meat and dairy industries are the number one polluters/contributors to greenhouse gases. Medical science is showing the outright damage that consuming meat does to the human body. It doesn't surprise me in the least that there is a push to a meatless human society or at least a movement toward lab grown meat.
The minimalist movement is also picking up momentum. A consumer based society is not sustainable and only adds to problems. Try the 90 day challenge. If you don't use something for 90 consecutive days get rid of it.
* first i would like to say.....i apologize to my son's everyday for getting them involved in this cult because i took so much from them as far as celebrating holidays go.
they are now 22 and 17 great kids.
they want nothing to do with the cult.
The whole demonization of normalized behavior is directly attributed to Rutherford and his hostile takeover the the Watchtower immediately following the death of Russell. There was a huge rift in the organization which caused there to be many splinter groups. Rutherford took the company and used the brand "Jehovah's Witnesses". The other went their way under other banners which some still exist today.
Rutherford wanted their to be a clear delineation between his group and the others. This is when being "no part of this world" became a call to seperate.
ringling brothers is my first thought.
got slot of clowns on their tv programs.
.
The crazy thing is, "Who owns the Watchtower" is a real question with a real answer. It is a corporation based in the U.S. and has international branches around the world.
Conversely, ask the question "Who owns the Church" and the answer is "Jesus". Notice, Jehovah doesn't own the Watchtower.
a vaccine is here!!!
the light at the end of the tunnel is visible!!!
so what happened to armageddon?.
Jehovah was with Judah, and they took possession of the mountainous region, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain, because they had war chariots with iron scythes. - Judges 1:19 NWT
So now there are 2 things Jehovah could not drive out - inhabitants of the plain with war chariots that have iron scythes and the COVID-19 virus.
for giving another disfelowshipped person shelter because he was homeless.
so i told him he should thank wt for preparing him for social isolation by shunning you as evil as shunning is..
What were you disfellowshipped for?
For being a good Samaritan.

6. the first-century disciples built their faith on their knowledge of the scriptures and the teachings of jesus christ, that is, “the truth of the good news.” (gal.
2:5) this truth consists of the whole body of christian teachings, including the facts about jesus’ ransom sacrifice and his resurrection.
The only way to be convinced of anything is to research the subject thoroughly. This includes researching opposing views. The Watchtower expressly forbids this.
so the new biden/harris gun policies are starting to appear.
it’s not clear yet, what they will be.. some suggestions; confiscate all guns.------buyback programs in each state.. there is much talk on social media that if this happens, the pandemic, + all the riots, + all the damaged property, + all the annual murders in america, - put together-will be like a sunday afternoon picnic, compared to all the deaths and property damage that will result because of “civil uprising” by millions of 2nd amendments advocates and just plain gun lovers.
americans love guns!.
When the U.S. was first founded, every male the age of 13 was required to maintain and be competent with firearms. Such persons were required to carry out both military and constabulary duties when their local community required it. Persons unable or unwilling to carry out such duties were required to pay a fee and those funds were used to pay for munitions and training for those who were willing to fight.
The problem we have in society is everyone is obsessed with living forever and are scared into paralysis of anything deemed "dangerous". The common U.S. mindset is "I pay taxes so I don't have to serve" also known as the "not my job" mentality.
I am all for citizens in the U.S. receiving basic firearms safety training in public school as a requirement. Every able bodied adult in the U.S. should have to volunteer a minimum of 16 hours a month to their local police department and receive adequate training to carry out their volunteer duties. That would include firearms training for their issued duty weapon.
Anyone who is a conscientious objector would be allowed to opt out by volunteering with their local fire department or pay more in taxes to support their local police agencies.
