Remember when Jesus was asked by soldiers what they needed to do? Jesus told them be be content with their military rations. That was it.

I would like to point out that even though Paul wrote that "through one man, Adam, sin entered the world" the statement is a half-truth. "Sin" entered the world after Adam and Eve disobeyed God. The punishment handed down from Judge YHWY to the guilty parties was -
- You no longer have a perfect body.
- That means you will get sick, grow old, and die.
- Your sentence is a death sentence to you and to your yet to be conceived children.
- Do ensure you have children to condemn to death I will give you a sex drive to ensure conception.
- Once you die you will exist as disembodied energy that will experience pain for eternity.
After handing down a sentence of death and eternal torture for 2 pieces of stolen fruit to the first couple and an unborn race of sentient beings YHWH wanted to show just what a good guy he is. YHWH sends himself in the form of a man to die sinless. The 2 pieces of stolen fruit were compensated to YHWH by YHWH. In short, YHWH took a $2.00 bill from his right pocket and put it into his left pocket.
Was the debt paid? No. The proof - we are all still declared imperfect sinners, deserving of death, and eternal damnation. Romans 3:20 even condemns a person who perfectly follows all the law and commandments of YHWH as the law is just there to make us aware of being a sinner.
The first test was not eating fruit from one tree. The second test is to believe. Believe that there is nothing we can do to earn salvation from a wrathful God. It is pointless to make every attempt to act in a good way, better ourselves, and make amends for our transgressions. Rather, believe in a God who allowed himself to be killed as a man by being nailed to a hunk of wood. That is all that matters. All the harm we have done to ourselves and other will be magicked away.
Playing the martyr, or “martyr complex,” is when a person has an exaggerated sense of obligation to suffer or sacrifice for others in order to elicit sympathy, love, and admiration. It's also meant to evoke guilt. So playing the martyr is passive-aggressive behavior, and one of the hallmarks of covert narcissism.

Climate propaganda

BLAST FROM THE PAST Three million years ago, Earth’s climate was so warm that the High Arctic supported forests (illustrated) in which camels and other animals roamed.

Hyenas lived in the Arctic during the last ice age, study reveals
https://www.earth.com/news/hyenas-arctic-last-ice-age/
Climate change is obviously real. I couldn't prove to someone that the combustible engine fueled by petroleum is or is not effecting the Earth's climate. It is pollution and therefor needs to cease. I prefer clean air, clear drinking water, and clean soil to grow food.
Just because the Earth is warming up is no evidence that life is going to end. Just because icecaps are melting does not conclude that we are all doomed. At one time that ice was not there and life flourished there.
Either way, the Watchtower will no miss an opportunity to quote any non-Watchtower source as an appeal to authority, but ONLY if it echoes their Watchtower beliefs.

2 Peter and Jude and 1 Enoch
by Parallax ini'm new to the forum and i have a question about what was said in a 16-year-old thread at this forum.
a poster by the name of leolaia said.... the author of 2 peter did not recognize that jude 6 was an allustion to 1 enoch (just as he did not realize that jude 9 was an allusion to the assumption of moses and thus rephrased it incoherently in 2 peter 2:11), or he may have objected to the enochic reference (just as jude 14-15 was omitted in 2 peter 2).
in either case, the author overlooked the enochic allusion and instead recognized the passage as an allusion of hesiod and thus embellished the passage from jude with an allusion to hesiod's tartarus.. .

Reading a menu helps us decide what food to order, but it does not bring nutrients the body needs as does the food.
A map is a great tool to help plan a journey, but it is not the journey.
There are many, many interesting things one can discover about the scriptures of Abrahamic faiths. I am still learning new ones. I recently discovered that there is evidence that the book of Jude may be a plagiarized work copying from 2 Peter. 2 Peter itself may have been a fraudulent writing as the Apostle Peter had already been executed before its writing.
Keep researching, but don't forget to take time to smell the roses.

Exodus 21:22 states that if a man causes a woman to have a miscarriage he is to pay a fine. Verse 23 continues that if the woman dies the offender is to be put to death.
Numbers chapter 5 instructs men who believe their wife was unfaithful to take her to the high priest. She is to be given a drink. If the unborn child is fathered by the husband the child will survive. If it was fathered by someone other than the husband she will have a miscarriage.
"May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.” Numbers 5:22
YHWY doesn't see unborn children the same as Christians.

Roe vs Wade Overturned by US Supreme Court!
by Simon ini know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.
it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.
plus the whole thing was based on a fraudulent case in the first place.. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61928898.

It's rather sad that we live in a society where it is common place for women that want to terminate their pregnancy and men who abandon their children. Maybe if we put our culture wars to the side, end identity politics, find something better than a consumer based economy we could move our species forward. It's been 53 years since a person walked on the moon. Since then the best we came up with is a small device that allows people to be forever distracted from life.
I do have hope. I think one day this giant dumpster fire will burn itself out, but not until it damn well kills us all. Then whoever is left over will get to things over. I think they will figure it out.

Putting the topic of abortion to the side for a moment, what this and the previous SCOTUS ruling on the suit in New York has shown me is the large number of Americans who don't understand how their country works. The "by any means necessary" mentality is down right scary. The double standards on how "rights" are treated in the view of opinion and feelings is terrifying.
