I have only looked at some of the preview chapters. Just on what I have seen it looks to be well researched. Good info on the JW dates, 1874 V 1914 return of Christ. 1925 earthly ressurection. 1975 etc.

really, this should be easy if you have the cd rom (i don't).. somewhere in the societies publications, they try to denigrate the reliability of an ancient tablet by citing a source which shows big gaps in the translation (lots of [] and .
's) evidently because this tablet was so beat up and broken, half the words are missing, thus secular historical records are worthless, trust the bible.. if i remember this correctly, the actual source of the quote goes on to say something to the effect of 'fortunately the obverse side of the tablet contains all the information in tact' - a fact the wt conveniently leaves out.. i had thought this quote was either from insight or the all scripture book, but i can't find it in either.
anyone know what publication this is from?
Well a search on WT CD 2012 shows Nothing for "Hillah Stele" or "Nabon 8". A search for "Nabon" shows 1 result, which is the Appendix 14 that Jeffro quouted from:
*** kc p. 186 Appendix to Chapter 14 ***
Nabonidus Harran Stele (NABON H 1, B): This contemporary stele, or pillar with an inscription, was discovered in 1956. It mentions the reigns of the Neo-Babylonian kings Nebuchadnezzar, Evil-Merodach, Neriglissar. The figures given for these three agree with those from Ptolemy’s Canon.
NABON H 1, A would be the 'twin' of the above, and this one is damaged. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sitchin/Adda_Guppi_Harran.htm
Google doesn't have much on the Hillah Stele either!really, this should be easy if you have the cd rom (i don't).. somewhere in the societies publications, they try to denigrate the reliability of an ancient tablet by citing a source which shows big gaps in the translation (lots of [] and .

Here is an interesting thread that also discusses the Adda-Guppi:
Is it still the case that the WT society has never mentioned the Hillah Stele/ Nabon 8?

WT wish that VAT4956 was the only line of evidence ever unearthed in a dig. Easy to cast doubt on 1 clay tablet as Jeffro has shown in the quotes.
Such a shame then for the WT dis-info writers the THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of Buisness contracts/invoices/reciepts that have the Babylonian Kings Name/Day/Month/Year, who reigned when the transaction was processed. Such a shame for the WT that NO KINGS are MISSING and it is impossible to then have a 20yr gap to make 587 into 607. Clay is great!
i'm new here but have been lurking here for a couple of months.
i am 3rd gen born in but have been inactive for a few years but always had the intention to make another go of the truth, but not now that i know ttatt.
i became inactive due to the inhumane treatment from family members who are elders.
Welcome! I have had dealings with many Elders along the way, only a few could I describe as kindly and humble, shepherd's who genuinely show that they care. Funny, these rare breed of Elders never picked me up on anything or tried to straighten me out. Just glad that your there and doing your best. Cue Elder Pharisee, which this Org has more and more of, They overpower the Elder Goodheart's and do not treat the flock with tenderness. They forget or ignore who the congregation (supposedly) belongs to - Christ. It becomes clear overtime that this Pharasaical attitude is not just 'my' congregation or just them Elders, but Circuit, District and Country wide! The Oral Law and Tradidtions of Men is alive and kicking in this brand of Christianity. I am also 'inactive' - stopped reporting FS - another Tradition of Men with no scriptural basis or precedent.
I'm Done with this crap. I'm Done with being judged. I'm Done with False Teachings being replaced with 'Clearer Understandings'.
the elders and ministerial servants at my hall were asked to attend a strange meeting last night.
the society is asking for our help to raise $10,200.
they are seeking to raise this money in april from elders and ministerial servants in our circuit only.
How odd.

if they were able to win on this ground, they could get out completely (although it could still be appealed to the ca supreme court).
Chaserious- Thank you, I understood 95%. Which is good for me
Good luck with the Bar. Mines a Stella
fellow workers.
we are fellow workers.
(a) what did paul mean when he wrote: by your faith .
been waiting for this... thanks blondie!
Elders don't make rules, who knew.
3)...... Paul saw no need to control
the faith of his brothers, and he had
no desire to do so. He was confident
that they were faithful Christians who
wanted to do what was right. (2 Cor.
2:3) Today, elders follow Paul’s example
by expressing confidence in their
brothers’ faith and motives for serving
God. (2 Thess. 3:4) Rather than making
rigid rules for the congregation, elders
rely on Scriptural principles and direction
from Jehovah’s organization. After
all, present-day elders are not the masters
over their brothers’ faith.—1 Pet. 5:
2, 3.

Not that we doubt Cedars in any way, but it is good to have 2 Witnesses™
there are many cultural differences between the general population of the us and europe, what about jws?
i have heard about such things as beards being allowed, movies that a jw cant watch in the us or would be frowned upon watching being ok, same with tv shows, and even the way they dress in public.
seems more laid back over there if this is true.. any truth to this?
BluesBrother:It can vary from congregation to congregation depending on the personality of the BOE and area by area....

And if that doesn't work: "it could be a cause for stumbling brother"
