  Confused...

  hiya and... i do not really know where to begin... currently a jw... slightly starting to fade... got a girlfriend baptised... i am baptised also... my head is a mess... i do not know what to believe anymore... never really fully trusted elders as it comes to 'leading the flock'... got burned a few times with their ... decisions etc.

  read a few articles in here about their alleged false beliefs... do not really know what to do... wondered if any of you felt like that at any point... when something that you trusted and followed most of your life... does not seem to be what you thought it was... .

  WHY I'M GLAD THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES DIDN'T GIVE UP ON ME

  last week i had a visit from two sisters from the old hall i used to attend.

  and i showed them acts 1:8 where jesus tells the apostles to be witnesses of him (jesus).

  they showed me isaiah 43:10 where isaiah qoutes jehovah saying "you are my witnesses".

  Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith YHWH, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

  estimates range from 4 million to 15 million children die from starvation each year on this planet.

  that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.

  still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.

  Well, I turn in my privileges to comment on this thread.

  When someone goes so far as to say that people must call upon the name that maybe 3 people in the universe know of, and stop expecting anything when calling upon Jesus, I would expect the Jesus people to call her out on that. Maybe they still will.

  That is actually a good point, but that is not exactly what SA is saying. She shares what she has learned and has drawn her closer to God. She says that HE revealed this name to her, and knowing that tells me that He must have been answering her prayers before she knew this name. Just as He has answered mine.

  A Question About Satan (For Those Who Believe In The Bible)

  when the bible mentions satan do you believe it's speaking of a paticular indivuial or is the term satan used for multiple people?

  to be more specific, do believe the satan that tempted eve, told david to take a census, tested job, and tempted jesus are the same person or 4 different people?.

  The devil is a spirit. Spirits work in ways we don't fully understand.

  Satan is a name. Names in the Bible are often used in ways differently than we are used to.

  So... yes there is one devil. Could it be that the name Satan does not always apply to him, but rather works as an adjective at times?

  I do not mean to sound dramatic but it is almost like part of your world has / is falling apart... is it not?

  Yes my friend it is, but it will be okay.

  It was a whirlwind for me, but also so joyful and this is why...

  For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

  I read that scripture and Christ led me out of the cult.

  Thank you for sharing! It is so strengthening isn't it? To know who Christ really is! And each time I read more proof of the Almighty God my heart sings more and more!

  Acts 15:14, "Simeon has related how God first concerned Himself about taking from among the Gentiles a people for His name."

  Acts 11:26 "and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians."

  And yes, now we plant seeds in witnessing as the Spirit leads us, trusting in the Lord, not taking it on ourselves and cramming in as much as we can like when we were JWs. And you were there in the moment, we were not... so I doubt we could correct your preaching.

  As for the scripture in Isaiah, all we need is context dear ones. Context.

  here on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.

  consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.

  and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

  MMMMM turkey. I don't have one in the freezer. I, in fact, am planning to get a fresh one this year because frozen turkeys always cause me defrosting problems.

  Unconditional love?

  whatever happened to "unconditional love"?.

  why is it today so many are willing to shun a friend or relative because they are just too much trouble or they do something that irritates them.... they claim that the other person is "not healty for them" or "harmful to their mental health" be it a relative or a goof friend.

  too ready to write them off so to speak.. what happened to the kind of unconditional love that loves in good and bad times..... i don't get it... i guess "unconditional love" doesn't exist anymore.

  The whole idea of withholding love

  is wrong. I love so and so. Their involvement in my life adversely affects myself and/or children, so I need to learn how to change my actions in relation to that. But I don't stop loving them.
